Earlier in the day, Ellie had felt great, nothing seemed to dampen her mood and she didn't feel sick in the slightest. But now that the days work is finally over and her body has the opportunity to rest, a sickening feeling floods through her body.

She whines as a dull ache pounds through her head. Her throat feels sore and her stomach churns with every movement she makes.

As she enters the house, a cold chill runs down her spine, and despite the warm weather outside, she feels as if she's just walked through a blizzard.

Sluggishly closing the door behind herself she walks further into the house, taking off her shoes when she's close enough to your shared bedroom.  When she enters the room, she immediately falls onto the bed, snuggling up into the blankets and laying on your side of the bed as she shuts her eyes. Currently all she wanted to do was lay in your arms and sleep, but she would have to wait a few, long hours for you to come home.

While she waits for you, she allows herself to fall into a light slumber, hoping that by the time she wakes up again, you'll be there to hold her.

Arriving home after a long patrol was like a dream come true. Your feet ached with each step you took and your eyes drooped with sleepiness as you approached your houses porch.

Swinging the door open, you step inside, making sure to shut it behind you quietly as Ellie is usually asleep when you come home.

Making your way to the bedroom, you take off your shoes and walk over to the desk you have in your room, placing your backpack and weapons on the floor.

Once everything was put away you made your way over to Ellie, brushing a strand of hair from her face and pressing a kiss to her forehead, like you usually would when you got home.

You were about to leave the room to go change into something a little more comfortable, but you had to do a double take when you felt how warm Ellie's forehead felt against your lips.

Your smile turned to a frown as you looked down to Ellie. Now that you're completely focused on her, you notice how much her body shivers. Her forehead had beads of sweat forming on it and her face was much paler than usual.

Being the worried girlfriend that you are, you gently shake Ellie awake.

"El?" you quietly whisper.

She whimpers at the sick feeling that returns as she opens her eyes and looks to  you.

"N/n?" she questions as her eyes land on your worried face. You nod and cup her cheek, brushing your thumb along her warm skin.

"Hey, baby." you smile "I just got home a few minutes ago. I was gonna leave you to sleep as I usually do, but when I kissed your forehead you felt a little warm. Do you not feel well?"

Groaning, Ellie slowly shakes her head, eyes falling shut as they start to feel too heavy for her to hold open.

"I felt fine this morning, but when I got home I started to feel really sick."
