-Teaching Her To Swim-

"Come on, El, the water feels great!."

Ellie watched hesitantly as you swam around the lake, a feeling of fear bubbling inside the older brunette at the sight of the deep body of water below her.

"I-I don't know, y/n. I don't want to drown."

Looking up to the cliff Ellie stood on, you swam over to her, a comforting smile etched on your face as you looked up to her.

"I won't let that happen, babe, you know that. I'll be right here when you need me. The soul purpose of me bringing you here is to teach you to swim, you'll be fine!."

You watched from afar as Ellie's eyes shifted between you and the deep waters you swam in.

"You promise!?."

You smile and nod your head "I promise, babe. You just gotta jump in. As soon as you're in the water you can hook right onto me."

Ellie nods and takes a deep breath before looking to the water again.

"You got it, Ellie!." 

Ellie nods and shakes her nerves away before stepping back from the cliffs edge for a running start.

"I got this." she whispered, hyping herself up. After a few more seconds of hyping herself up, she finally makes a dash towards the cliffs edge.

"You better fucking catch me, y/n!." she yells, and just as she gets your name out, she plummets into the water. Almost instantly, she begins to panic, arms flailing and legs kicking as she desperately tries to get her head above the waters surface.

But before she could slip into shear panic, you wrap your arms around her and pull her head above water. Her fingers curl around the soaked fabric of your shirt and her arms tightly wrap around you as she breathes in and out heavily.

"It's okay, you're okay."

After a few short moments Ellie manages to catch her breath and rests her head against your shoulder as she does.

"Jesus, I thought I was a goner." you laugh and shake your head "I told you I would catch you."

Ellie nods and closes her eyes for a few seconds as she tries her best to relax. When she opens her eyes again, her eyes lock with your e/c ones. You grin and release an arm around Ellie so you can push a strand of hair that's stuck to her cheek behind her ear.

"Ready to swim?."

With a heavy sigh Ellie hesitantly nods her head "As ready as I'll ever be." you nod and lead her over to a part of the lake thats a little more shallow.

"Okay, so swimming is all about keeping yourself above the water. The main way you do that, is by kicking your legs and wafting your arms back and forth, just like I'm doing right now."

Ellie watches as you softly kick your legs and move your free arm around slowly.

"You can also just use your arms to stay above the water which is what I want you to try first. So in a few seconds I'm going to let you go and you're going to push your arms out."
