Rye's Point of View

"Where are we going?" I ask Jaden when I climbed in his car.

"To the beach. It's night time, no one's going to be there." Jaden smiles at me. "Why? For what?" I know he's being nice and I should appreciate, but I'm a nosey person, I need to know every detail.

"I want to spend time with you."

"But you said we needed to talk." I remind him. "I know." He replies, focusing in the road now.

"Rye, we do need to talk. Can you wait?" He snap. I roll my eyes and decided to stay silent for the rest of the car ride.

I wasn't in the mood for this. He should've approached this differently, he made it sound like it was something urgent and serious, not a fucking romantic car ride. I'm thankful that he's trying but I had a terrible day. I got fired from my job; all I want to do is cry in my bed.

We pulled up to the beach and I immediately got out of the car. I ran a little until my feet touched the cold sand, leaving Jaden behind. He was getting a blanket from the trunk and I didn't feel like waiting for him.

"Why are we running?" Jaden laughs and I shrugged as I continued to run away from him. "Stop, I'm not in shape like you." He jokes.

I stopped and turned around, extending my arms at him. He paced towards me, dropped the blanket to the floor and grabbed my hands, pulling me closed to him.

Okay, maybe this isn't that bad.

Jaden lets go of my hands to wrap his arms around my waist before beginning to kiss my lips.

"Wait." I stopped. "Let's seat on the blanket."

Jaden and I proceeded to unfold the white blanket and place it neatly on the sand.

"Are we..." I began to ask as we were sitting down. "You know..."

"Having sex?" Jaden finished for me, laughing at my stupidity. We haven't had anything in a long time, it felt rare mentioning it. "I don't know you tell me." He smirks looking directly at my lips.

Thank God I showered earlier.
