7. Hospital

Jaden's Point of View

I've never seen Bryce so anxious in my life. We've been in other serious situations before and he'd still find a way to make a joke or two out if it, but today this isn't the case. Rye didn't give us much information on what happened over the phone, we are walking in this hospital right now expecting the worst.

"Riann Oakley." Bryce responds to a nurse after she asked who we were searching for. We followed the nurse to our destination and there was Rye.

She looks beat up.

"Are you Mr. Hall? Her fiancée?" The nurse asks Bryce. Jazz has the most confused look on her face but to be honest, me too.

"Yeah." Rye responds for him.

"We need you to sign some papers for her, she hurt her wrist badly. I will go get them!"

"I couldn't say you're brother, we don't have the same last name." Rye explains herself after the nurse left. Jazz looks so relieved know.

"That doesn't matter. What happened to you?"

"My neighbor destroyed my apartment and when his wife came to say sorry, he walked in and attacked us. I hurt my wrist a little and as you can see my eye is purple."

Purple? Her eye is black!

"Oh and my hands have small cuts from the glass that was on the floor." Rye showed us.

I felt so much anger towards that asshole. One of us should have gone with her instead of leaving her alone. We knew that she lives in a bad neighborhood. This could have been prevented.

"He was arrested."

"I'm so sorry Rye." Jazz says crying a little. Girls are usually emotional, I don't know if she really feels bad though. Part of me doesn't trust Jazz. She's sketchy.

"But I'm good though, I can walk and shit. I drove my self here after being at the police station making sure he would get arrested for good."

"Why didn't you call us? You're insane!" Bryce asks. "I didn't want to cause trouble and I had everything under control." Rye defends herself.

"Except for the part you almost got killed." Bryce says. "Dude." Griffin glares at him.

"It's fine. I'd be mad if he did the same thing." Rye tells them.

"Mr. Hall." The nurse came in with a bunch of papers. "After this she can go home."

Rye's Point of View

Physically I feel fine. I don't have injuries that limit me from doing anything, this will heal in less than a month. Emotionally? I'm a disaster right now. When that man laid his hands on me I froze. My mind went back to my abusive step dad and how I thought I would never go through such thing as that. I panicked badly and forgot all the self defense videos I've ever watched.

Now I'm homeless and have no clothes. I'm trying to keep it together and act strong in front of my friends but the feeling of losing everything is taking over me.

"The boys and I will go get stuff that still works from your place. You won't go back there." Bryce tell me. We are at his place. I rather be here than that cold hospital. "I'm calling someone to fix the AC in the guest room."
