Rye's Point of View

"Oh my God!" I gasp loudly, not caring if I cause bother to anyone in the lobby.

I thought my eyes were betraying me when I saw Bryce, Addi and Griffin standing near the door. Is this real life? They really came all the way from California to see me?!

"Hi ugly!" Bryce yells back and I jump fro excitement them ran to go hug him.

"What are you three doing here?" I ask with a high pitch tone as I hug them individually. "We came to see you dance." Griffin replies.

"Thank you! Holy shit." I say tearing up. "Wait are you guys staying here too?"

"Bold of you to assume I can afford a place like this." Bryce laughs. "We got another hotel but we wanted to say hello before going there." Addison explains.

I'm still waiting for something... waiting for him, to pop out of nowhere and surprise me but as the moments passed by and its getting later my hope fell to the ground. I need to accept that he isn't coming, it's so obvious.

As they're about to go Griffin pulled me to a side.

"Hey I wanted to thank you."

"What? For what?"

"For not giving up on me and being there for me. I know after everything that happened we drifted apart, because I asked you too and it was the right thing to do, but I'm ready to be your best friend again... and be here for you." He says, tearful.

"Come here." I brought him into a hug. "Love you Gryffindor." I whisper.

"Love you too."

Today is the day! I woke up early and so did Madison to help me get ready. The nerves are kicking it but I think my mind hasn't accepted what's going to happen yet. I'm so numb over Jaden's situation that I haven't been able to be overly excited about the competition. It's frustrating that I'm letting myself be emotionally controlled by him when I definitely know better.

"Where's your phone? I called you twenty times and thought you slept through." Joshua hisses as soon as Mads let him in the room. "I broke it yesterday..."

"You what?" He gasps shaking his head. "No wonder you didn't answer!"

"But I'm ready don't worry." I tell him grabbing my bag. "Mads did my make up, how do I look?"

"Great, great. Let's go we don't want to be late." He walks out and I look at Mads that was holding in a laugh.

"I'll see you after the competition." I went to give her hug. "Try to get seats in the middle of  so I can spot you easily." I tell her.

"We will." She says holding both my hands. "Hey look at me."

"I'm looking."

"Everything's going to be better than perfect, okay? Trust me." She says and I smile. "Thank you." I pout hugging her again.

I ran out of the room to catch up with Joshua. An uber picked us up. The venue wasn't far from the resort so in no time we could see the building from a distance.

And that's when it hits me...

"Joshua!"

"What?!"

"I'm competing at nationals!"

"I know!"

"What the hell?!"
