Rye's Point View

I was very pleased with the apartments I visited today and I'm sure that I'm choosing one of them. Oscar (my moms ex boyfriend) mentioned flying here to help me, like my mom did once did when I first moved here. I have mixed feelings about him but I need all the help I can get and maybe this will be a healthy healing process for both of us. I like to believe that it isn't weak to mend things with someone who has hurt you after they've showed how much they changed.

"Rye, you're late." Our choreographer, Liz, says when I walked in the studio. "I informed that I was coming in late." I respond.

"That's unfortunate because we're giving you a last minute solo and now you have less time to come up with it."

"What? Why?"

"Boss' orders."

Joshua's mom is doing this on purpose. She knows we aren't used to choreograph ourself and have it done in two days.

"You know the group dance, go to studio three and get your solo started." Liz says. I look at my teammates and they were as confused as me.

I had no other option than to go and do what I was told to. No one said to me what song or type of dance to do so I'm choosing it myself.

Jaden: hows your day

Me: it was ok until i got to the studio

Jaden: oh :/

Me: can you go my competition
this weekend, im going to need support

Jaden: of course, im telling griff

I'm glad Jaden texted me, it made me feel a little better.

Now I have to start working and stop using my phone before someone sees and I get yelled at.

I'm choreographing a contemporary lyrical dance and so far I think it's going great.

"You had flex feet on your side arial."

Joshua really needs to stop scaring the shit out of me. "I didn't mean to scare you." He chuckles.

"What do you want?"

"Oh, you're mad at me?"

"Joshua I'm trying to work, please leave me alone. This is stressing enough." I say.

"I asked my mom for your solo, I thought you'd like one."

"Why would I want a last minute solo? Anyway, I don't need your help-"

"Rye it was with the best intentions."

"Yeah because you felt bad for what happened." I state as I continued to practice my side arial because apparently I'm sickling my feet. "You did it again." He says and I sigh.

"And yeah... I felt bad." Joshua tells me a little hesitant. "I contradicted myself by brining her."

"But I honestly didn't think you'd care." He adds. I was about to do another arial but I stood there looking at him speechless.

"What?"

"I care, of course I do." I answer. "But you have feelings for Jaden." He says and I stayed silent. "And I have to respect that, even though I know I'm better for you."

"Joshua..."

"Sorry- I'm sorry." He mumbles. "I'm just going to sit here and watch you dance, is that okay with you?"
