The rest of the day flew by quickly as it was already 6:00 PM. My date with Jake is at 7:30, so I need to go to the dress store right now. I just texted Sarah that I needed to leave soon to go dress shopping for my first date with Jake. She said that she wanted to come with us.
"Mum, Sarah wants to come dress shopping with us, is that okay?" I asked. "Of course!" She said. "Awesome. I'll let her know," I said as I texted Sarah saying that she could come along with us. She replied right away. "She will be here in a few minutes," I said. "Okay, no worries!" My mum said. I could tell we were all super excited.
A few minutes later, Sarah had arrived. She was smiling and we could tell she was excited too! We got into the car, I sat in the back with Sarah, so she wouldn't feel alone, in the backseat. On the way to the dress store, we talked about the style of dress that I should wear. Several minutes had passed, and we finally got to the dress store. There were different dresses in the window, from the ones that were there when my mum and I shopped there for a dress for my first date with Jake.
We entered the store, with smiles on our faces. It took a few minutes for us to really decide some nice options. Sarah picked up a pink dress. "Pink isn't really my color," I said. She nodded and put the dress back. My mum spotted a dress, it was light yellow, with some sequence at the bottom, and a blue ribbon belt around the waist. "I like it, but I don't think it's right for this occasion, maybe easter though," I said. We laughed.
I saw this one dress that really stood out to me. It was white on the top, and purple with flowers on the bottom. I loved it! I picked up the dress and showed my mum and Sarah, they loved it too. "I love it!" I said as I went to the dressing room. I changed into the dress. I felt very comfortable. I opened the door, and Sarah and my mum smiled. "Look at you!" Sarah said. "You're gorgeous!" My mum said. "Thank you guys so much!" I said as I turned to face the mirror, and looked at myself. "Wow, again! I look actualy kind of pretty," I said smiling. "You are pretty!" My mum said. "Thanks, but I don't believe that," I said. "Well, I do." Sarah said.
"Then, I think we found the one!" I said. "Yes!" My mum said. "Awesome!" Sarah said. "Hey, can we get my hair done?" I asked. "Sure, but we need to pay for the dress first." My mum said. "Okay, but I should probably keep the dress on, because if I don't wearthe dress right now, then I get my hair done now, later I would have to put the dress on and my hair would be done, so i wouldn't want to ruin my hair, that's why I need to wear the dress right now," I said.
"Oh, okay. You're so smart!" My mum said. "I don't know about that, but thanks." I said. "Your welcome," my mum said. I grabbed my clothes out of the dressing room, and put them in my bag that Sarah was holding for me. "Thanks Sarah, for holding my bag, and coming with us, I'm glad you did," I said. "Me too! This is so much fun!" Sarah agreed with me. We went up to the counter to pay for the dress, the lady scanned the tag on the dress, and then we took the tag off and threw it out. "Thank you," we said to the lady. "Your welcome," she said.
We walked into the hair salon, and I looked at the pictures of the types of hairstyles they could do. I decided to go with the fishtail braid. A woman came over to me, she worked at the salon. "Hi, so you're going on your second date tonight?" She asked. "Yes, did my mum tell you?" I asked. "Yep," the lady said. "Oh okay," I said. "Follow me to the back, and we'll get started," She said as she started walking towards the back of the salon. I followed her. "So, what hairstyle are you interested in?" The lady asked. "The fishtail braid," I said. "That's one of my personal favorites!" She said. "Cool!" I said. She pointed to a chair, I sat down in it. "You can call me, Melanie," the lady said. "Okay, Melanie," I said. She washed my hair in the sink, and added shampoo and conditioner, then dried my hair with a towel. Then we went to her section in the salon, I sat in the chair, and then she grabbed a hairdryer and dried my hair. Then, after several minutes, my hair was finally dried. She then grabbed a hair curler from her desk and started curling my hair. Then she began braiding my hair. Once she was done with my hair, she held a mirror in front of my face, and I looked at my reflection, I loved my hairstyle!
My mum and Sarah came back, I guess they went to the food court, and ate some stuff cause it was getting late. They smiled. I smiled back. Melanie was even smiling. I stood up from the chair and looked in the full length mirror on the wall, and I saw me in my new dress, with my new hairstyle, I looked amazing!
"You look stunning!" My mum said. "Wow, Grace you seriously look so amazing!" Sarah said. "Thank you guys so much, and thank you Melanie for taking the time to do my hair!" I said. "No problem!" Melanie said. My mum thanked Melanie and gave her a tip of $15, and we stopped at the desk on the way out, and paid for my hairstyle.
By now, it was 7:00 PM, we had to go back home right now. We got back in the car, and arrived home about 15 minutes later. When we got back home, Sarah went back to her house. I had about 15 minutes to put some makeup on, before Jake arrived.
15 minutes later, I finished applying all the makeup, I went with a natural look, just like usual.
Ding Dong!
It's Jake!
"Grace, Jake's here!" I heard my mum say.
