I sat down with my lunch at the popular table. Even though I had been sitting at this table everyday for months, I still felt like I was in the wrong place.

"We should go camping again this weekend." Mel suggested and our friends nodded in agreement. We had an extra long weekend coming up because the seniors had exams and rehearsal for graduation ceremonies. I had planned on binge watching a new TV series that had just come on Netflix but it seemed my friends had other plans.

"Anywhere with a lake and I'm in," I heard Ryan say from my left side as he sat down next to me, winking at me and I rolled my eyes.

"I want my own tent this time," I whined and the boys laughed.

"You can always sleep in my tent," Ryan said and I laughed, hitting him playfully on the arm.

"You wish," I said and rolled my eyes at him again.

"Oh I my wishes are a lot hotter than that," Ryan replied with a small chuckle.

"When did you two stop hating each other?" Hunter asked as he sat down next to his girlfriend, pulling her to sit in his lap.

"She never hated me, I'm awesome," Ryan answered and smiled at Hunter.

"You keep telling yourself that," I said and threw a fry at him and it hit him on the cheek and he looked over at me and glared.

"There's a fine line between love and hate," Hunter said, kissing Mel on the neck and she smiled, nuzzling up to him in his arms.

On Friday we drove 3 cars because we had a lot of gear. For 3 nights camping, we sure brought a lot of stuff, I thought as I slammed the trunk down and got into the passengers seat of Ryan's car.

Ryan and I were alone in his car so we held hands the entire way there and we talked a bit, sang to songs on the radio and to songs on CDs I was able to find in his collection. I had to admit we good time together; it was nice spending time with him like a real couple.

We arrived at the campground about an hour after we left town and we quickly got our tents and campfire going. I was unrolling my sleeping bag when I was hit from behind with a pillow.

"Hey what the fu---" I said and was cut off when I saw it was Ryan standing at the front of my tent holding his sleeping bag and backpack.

"I said I wanted a tent to myself," I whined and he smirked, walking into the tent and setting up his sleeping bag next to mine.

"How did I get stuck with the asshole?" I whined as I exited the tent, not bothering to lay out anything else in my tent.

"Hey you had your chance to share a tent with me but you said you wanted to be alone," Avery said from her crouching position as she tried to get the fire going.

"Yeah so how did I get the asshole?" I asked again, looking around to the smirking faces of my friends.

"Why am I always the asshole?" Ryan asked as he exited the tent, zipping it closed behind him.

"Does that really require an answer?" I asked and I stuck my tongue out at him.

"Oh so we're back to the old married couple bickering," Hunter said as he walked into the campground holding sticks and logs and put them beside the fire, helping Avery start it.

"He started it," I whined and sat on one of the chairs as the fire slowly came to life and Avery and Hunter smiled and high fived each other.

We made hot dogs for dinner on the fire and again I needed help, which both Colin and Ryan tried but I was a lost cause. I gave up on hot dogs and made smores, which I had no problems with. Maybe all my meals I should stick to dessert, I pondered as I squished the graham crackers together and watched the marshmallow melt the chocolate inside. I noticed Ryan was looking at me and when I looked up at him his face quickly changed to a smirk as he watched me eat my smore.
