Chapter 21

I had been sitting in the library for last 2 hours. It was already afternoon. I had less classes that day and I came here right after that. I was really busy for past few weeks, I hardly got any free time. I had lots of assignments to complete. Also we were working hard on that case. Things were going on well.

I came to the library to get a quiet environment to work. There was pile of books, newspaper cuttings and few other important papers in front of me. I was studying something about that case. My back was already hurting for sitting their for straight 2 hours. And I decided to quit.

Library is the best place to come when you are exhausted of everything in your life. You get some time of your own to get lost in a different world. You get detached from everything and forget the pain for a while.

Grabbing all my things, I exited the place. I was dumbfounded seeing it was raining outisde. Cause I didn't have the slightest idea of raining. The reason was that sounds don't come inside the library. I kept staring at the rain drops while a part of my brain was thinking what to do. Since I didn't have umbrella with me there was uncertainty in my reaching home. On the other hand, I really needed to go back home and touch my body with the bed. I was so tired.

It was raining so heavily. And it seemed it won't stop so easily. Even none of my friends were nearby who could give me a lift under their umbrella. People were leaving the building with colorful umbrellas and I was watching them while regretting for being so careless. Why did it need to be rain today? I don't like rain and I was stucked because of that. I was so irritated. I leaned my back against the wall folding both of my arms. Few minutes passed and a boy came from nowhere.

I looked at him and he asked, "Are you Y/n?"

I confusedly replied, "Yes." I never saw him.

He offered me a blue umbrella to take. He said, "Someone gave you this."

I cocked my eyebrows questioningly. "Someone who?" The boy replied, "He told me not to tell you his name."

I thought he was joking as it was so crazy. Rather than accepting his offer, I said, "Oh boy, I'm not in the mood of joking." I looked around curiously  and found Jimin staring at me. He instantly moved his eyes as I looked at him. He was quite far from me with Somi. She was holding his arms like couples do. I heard her saying, "Let's share your umbrella."

I sighed. It was not hard for me to guess from where this umbrella came from. I looked at him once again and I felt he was scared of me being sick. I don't know if I really can read his mind or it was just my imagination, but it somehow felt good that he is still aware that I'll be seriously sick if I get wet in the rain. But I will not take his help this time. I wanted to show that I can refuse him too. If he can leave me like this I can leave too. I was being so stubborn. And maybe it was necessary.

I moved my eyes in exasperation. "Return the damn umbrella to the one who gave you." I said to the boy a bit harshly. It was so sudden and anger raged inside me. I recited those words so loudly and I was sure he heard my words. I came out in the rain and the cold water touched me. Jimin was still standing under the umbrella with Somi. I started walking in the rain, already getting soaked and leaving behind a pair of eyes who had protected me for all those time.

I knew it very well that I'll get sick. It sounds crazy but I wanted to. I wanted him to feel miserable.
