Chapter 29

It was nearly 5 at the clock. It was ticking too slowly from my point of view, but I knew it was relatively slow and was moving on in it's own speed. The blazing sun was finished spreading it's heat and started to cool down. The sky was unbelievably blue, with some fluffy clouds floating here and there. There was cool breeze blowing outside but it couldn't touch me as I was sitting inside the cafe, surrounded with glass walls, waiting for Kookie.

I was continuously shaking my legs under the table, which was revealing my impatience. I was eagerly waiting for him which I probably never did in years. When the minute hand of the clock reached exactly 12, the glass door of the cafe opened and the bell rang. Yes! It was Kookie!

"Perfect timing." I mumbled.

He was wearing a light yellow sweater along with a navy blue jeans. The earrings on his ears didn't miss my attention. He was looking too cute in those. Well, I always find him cute.

He scanned the whole place with his eyes at first in order to find me. I raised my hand and he noticed me. A sweet smile appeared on his face when our eyes met. He slowly came towards me and sat in front of me.

"I was eagerly waiting for you." I said excitedly.

"Where's my reward?" He demanded like a kid.

"Oh, right. You're reward." I mumbled in realization. I called the waitress near me. "Do you want something else with your banana milk?" I asked Jungkook.

"Since you want to give me something how can I say 'no' to you?" He gave an evil smile. I rolled my eyes but I wasn't annoyed honestly. "Two ice-cream cakes and two banana milk, please." Jungkook said to the waitress once he decided the menu. The lady noted down the order, bowed and left.

My attention returned towards Jungkook. "Okay, now tell." I said lowering the tone of my voice a bit. I was so thrilled inside though I was trying my best to stay calm and cool.

He cleared his throat dramatically, leaned forward and started to say. "Okay, listen carefully. As far as I got to know about Somi is, she is the only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lee. But their parents got divorced when she was a kid, and since then she lives with her Mom. Though her Mom chose to remain single, her Dad married another woman later. I don't know if he has anymore children there or not. Whatever, come to the point. Her Mom doesn't come out that much. I mean, people have hardly seen her. Some say she remains sick most of the time but it's not clear what type of sickness is that. And they're living for quite a long time in their locality. But they're not that close with their neighbours. Like, 'keep-it-to-myself' type, you know. Still, no one have any complaints about them. They're not troublemakers type."

"So that was officer Jeon Jungkook's overall report." He said and smiled like a bunny.

"Hmm...I see." I mumbled. I was lost into thinking. There was a thin line of worry on my forehead.

He found it kinda frustrating that I didn't shower him with praises for his great work, didn't even clap for him. He said frustratingly, "Won't you appreciate me?" He gave me a puppy look, and definitely that was hard to ignore.

I said in realization, "Sorry, I haven't appreciated properly. I was just lost...into thoughts. However, you did a great job! You deserve a big thank you from me." I clapped my hands in appreciation. Hopefully that brought a smile on his face. Meanwhile the waitress came with the foods and we started eating.
