"Make sure that your environment is safe, always trust your guts, ok?" Her lips quivered as she swallowed back her tears.
Huminga ako nang malalim at hinagod ang likod niya, pilit siyang pinakakalma. I'm an only daughter so I understand why she's like this. It's the first time that I would go somewhere far from her, it's inevitable that she doesn't want to let go of my hand.
"Take good care of yourself, ha? Kapag nahihirapan ka umuwi ka na lang sa'kin," nanggigilid ang luhang aniya habang mahigpit ang kapit sa kamay ko.
I carved a smile on my lips to assure her. "Don't worry, Ma, I'll be fine."
"You better be. I went to lengths to protect you and I will gladly do it again. You have to come back to me unscathed, hmm?" she asked with hopeful eyes.
I don't know if it's just me and my playful imagination, pero bakit parang lagi kaming may... tinataguan?
"Tallia..." His calm voice pulled me back from drowning in my own thoughts.
I brought my eyes to his and met his gentle gaze. "Hmm? I'm sorry, what was it again?" I asked then lightly squeezed his hand.
He lifted his hand and gently caressed my cheeks. "You must be so tired for you to be zoning out like that."
"I'm fine, really." I chuckled, waving his worry off.
Our lift soon arrived on the floor of our unit. Our unit is at the end of the hallway so we walked for a bit until we reached our condo.
"Oh! Hi there love birds-- na may pa-holding hands while walking pa," malaki ang ngiting sabi niya at niluwagan ang bukas ng pinto.
"You should rest, aakyat na'ko," agad na paalam niya nang makapasok ako sa pinto.
"You too, I'll see you tomorrow." Tango ko.
He just smiled and gave my forehead a quick kiss before leaving.
I carefully closed the door while biting down a smile. Liarra's still beside me, smiling like an idiot as if she's watching some sort of a romance play.
Knowing that she will just tease me, I left her there and made my way in to the sala. Sinuyod ko ng tingin ang buong condo namin. It's my first time seeing it dahil si Liarra ang nagasikaso ng lahat. It's the perfect size for the two of us, enough para sa kakalatan namin.
Pabagsak akong umupo sa sofa habang si Liarra naman ay pumasok sa kusina.
"Liarra? Kumain ka na ba?" sigaw ko para marinig niya.
"Hindi pa, ikaw ba?"
"Anong oras na bakit hindi ka pa kumakain?" pagalit na tanong ko. I stood up and walked towards the kitchen door.
