Chapter 28

Richie's POV

I stare into Eddie's gorgeous eyes and just get lost in them. 

I still can't believe he likes me back. It's all I've ever wanted. To be with Eddie and to make him happy.

I dive back in for another heated kiss, making it last as long as I can.

We pull apart and I fall to his side, moving him with me so that he's facing me.

I keep my left hand on his hip and move my other up to rest on his adorable face, just admiring the beauty in front of me.

"I'm so glad that I live here now so that I don't have to worry about leaving anymore." Eddie says with a sweet smile. "I always hated having to leave you."

"And I always hated when you left." I reply with a grin.

"The circumstances that lead us here were sad but at least we're here and finally together." he contently says as he leans towards me for a sweet kiss. I move my hand from his face and entangle it in his soft hair.

"And us being together has been great." I joyfully say with a goofy smile forming on my face.

"It has." he blissfully says as we fall back into a content state of happiness.

Three hour time skip

We've been lying here staring into each others eyes and sharing sweet kisses every now and then, just lightly talking about different things.

We then hear my mum shout us down for tea.

We sit up on the bed and just as I'm about to get up, Eddie grabs my arm and gently pulls me back.

"I just wanted to ask when you were going to tell Maggie about us?" he hesitantly asks me.

"I'm not sure. My mum is really kind to me and to you, but I'm still nervous about telling her." I say, my mind filling with thoughts of telling my mum I'm gay and dating my best friend.

"I understand, but I'm sure it'll be fine." he says, while wrapping his arm round my shoulders. "We'll tell her when you're ready to, no pressure." he reassuringly says with a soft smile.

I feel myself relax at his words and give him a smile back. I get up off the bed and go round to Eddie and envelop him in a hug.

We pull apart and start making our way downstairs. 

We have our tea and all the while I keep thinking about what I should say when I come out to my mum and tell her about me and Eddie.

When we've all finished and washed up everything, I grab Eddie's wrist and gently pull him next to me as I get my mum's attention.

"Mum, I need to talk to you about something." I say, trying to sound confident.

"What is it Richie?" she curiously asks while leaning against the counter.

"I-I-I'm," I exhale, feeling my hands getting sweaty and my heart start to race. I feel Eddie put his hand on my back and soothingly rub up and down. "I'm gay." I say with a sudden burst of confidence which is quickly replaced with an anxious feeling of how my mum is going to react.

She moves off the counter and walks towards me with a kind smile on her face. She then pulls me in for a hug, which I happily accept.

"It's okay Richie. I support you, no need to worry." she soothingly says, gently patting me on the back.

After about a minute we pull back from the hug and she gives me a warm smile.

"There's something else." I say, moving back to Eddie and grabbing hold of his hand and locking our fingers together. I turn to look at him and he gives me a sweet smile and slightly nods his head at me.

"Me and Eddie are dating." I say, turning my attention back to my mum who is now smiling wide at us.

"Congrats boys, I always suspected that there was something between you two." she grins, pulling us both in for another hug.

"Thanks mum, it means a lot that your so supportive and don't mind us dating." I genuinely say.

"Yeah, thanks Maggie. It means a lot." Eddie sweetly says.

"No worries boys. I'm happy that you two are happy." she says, pulling away and looking at us with a warm smile.

We all end up talking for a bit and I feel myself relax from how well it went and how supportive my mum is.

Time skip

After a while we go back up to our room and I collapse on my bed with a sigh of relief.

Eddie closes the door and lies next to me, placing his soft hand in mine and entwining our fingers.

I turn my head to face Eddie who is already looking at me with a smile.

"I'm proud of you Rich." he says with a sweet smile. "It took a lot of courage to come out to Maggie and you did it!" he says while rolling on his side and slightly hovering over me.

"Thanks Eddie." I reply, returning a smile. "It was hard, because I didn't know how she would react, but it really helped having you there with me."

"Anytime Rich, I'm always going to be here for you." he says with a soft smile before he leans down and captures a sweet kiss.

When he pulls away I pull him onto me and wrap my arms right round him for a hug, I bury my face in his neck and just get lost in this sweet boy.

I feel Eddie's hands go up in my hair and start playing with my curls.

I pull my head back off him and look up into his eyes, keeping his body close to me.

He sweetly smiles at me as we both lean into one another and our lips meet for a loving kiss, which turns heated as I roll us over so that he's lying on the bed and I'm on top of him.

I move my hands down to his waist and kiss him for as long as we both can, not wanting to break apart from each other.
