After dinner, Elliot goes straight to our bedroom to lay down.

I do the same, but I'm watching television and he's asleep.

I slowly start to drift asleep.

I'm super close to sleeping, but the sound of sniffling makes me wake up.

Looking to my side, I can see that Elliot is facing away from me.

I lift myself up on my elbows and lean over him, attempting to see his face.

It's too dark so I lean over and turn on a nearby lamp.

"Babe?" I asked.

Elliot wipes his face and turns his body towards me.

"D-did I wake you?" Elliot asked, his voice raspy from crying.

"N-no you didn't wake me up..." I trail off. "Wh-what's uh- what's wrong?"

"Nothing," Elliot clears his throat. "I'm fine."

"You don't look fine,"

Elliot looks down at the floor.

"I'm okay, I promise!" Elliot says, his eyes never meeting mine.

I grab him by his chin making him look at me.

"You promise?"

"I-," Elliot blinks a few times before shaking his head no.

A few tears find their way down his cheek.

I pull Elliot into a hug and he starts sobbing into my shoulder.

"I miss them so much," Elliot says, his voice muffled from my shoulder.

I stroke his head trying to think of something to say.

"I know El, I know."

After comforting Elliot, he finally regains his composure.

"Is there anything I can do to help?"

Elliot nods his head.

"Just don't-" he lets out a long shaky breath. "Don't ever leave me!"

"I'm not going anywhere,"

"Good because if anything bad ever happens to you I swear- I swear I'd go crazy!"

A few hours pass and Elliot is still awake.

I'm trying to stay awake until he's asleep.

"You know you don't have to stay up with me right?"

I nod my head changing the television channel.

"Just go to sleep," I reply as I let out a yawn.

Elliot doesn't end up falling asleep until it's very late.

Once he falls asleep, I have a hard time going to sleep.
