38. Broken Nose

Hwan - Jangmi's POV

I led Jimin hyung downstairs and helped him sit down on the couch. I bent down onto my knees and moved hyungs hands away from his nose. He winced when I touched his nose. The ball of guilt increased as I examined his nose. It was broken and bleeding.

I sighed at myself and stood up to get the first aid kit from the kitchen. I placed the kit on the table and bent down near hyung's face. I took out some cotton and wiped off the blood before cleaning it with some antiseptic. I sighed and took hyung's hands in mine and said, "Hyung. Your nose is broken. I stopped the bleeding but I need to set your nose straight. It's going to hurt. You ready?"

Hyung shook his head in disagreement. I took a deep breath and tried to explain it to him again. But he refused to let me touch his nose. I was completely exasperated. He was reacting worse than a child. I asked him if he would let anyone else do it. Maybe he's still in shock that I punched him.... He might not like me touching his nose. He disagreed and tried to leave.

Being taller than him has its perks! I caught hyung by his collar and sat him down on the couch again. I bent down to his face, "Don't stand up again. I don't have a good amount of patience. You've nearly used up my quota of patience." I threatened, "Me running out of patience is not a sight to see." He looked quite terrified. I felt bad for him but nevertheless I stood up and shouted for Kookie hyung to come downstairs.

Kookie hyung came down the stairs a few moments later and looked at me with a questioning look. I pointed towards Jimin hyung, still sitting in the same position with widened eyes, completely terrified. Kookie hyung blinked twice and rubbed his eyes to make sure he wasn't hallucinating. Now I have started losing my patience. Why are they overreacting so much? Haven't they seen a broken nose or something like this?

Kookie hyung turned to me, "Why in the world is Jimin-ssi so terrified? And what's wrong with his nose?" I closed my eyes and took a deep breath to calm myself down before answering, "I threatened him. His nose is broken." Kookie hyung stared at me for a few seconds before breaking into a fit of laughter. I stared at him in surprise for I certainly hadn't expected a reaction like this. I had originally called him to help keep Jimin hyung stable while I set his nose right. But it seemed like I was wrong.

He was completely useless. I groaned in frustration and asked him, "If you're done with laughing, will you help me set his nose straight? You have to hold him tight and not let him move." Kookie hyung shrugged. I motioned for Kookie hyung to go and hold Jimin hyung while I bent down near Jimin hyung. He still hadn't realized what was going on and innocently smiled at Kookie hyung.

Kookie hyung sat down beside Jimin hyung and wrapped his arms around Jimin hyungs waist, managing to get Jimin hyung's hands in his grip as well. It was at this moment Jimin hyung realized our intentions and started shaking his head in disagreement. I tried to calm myself down because I had lost all of my patience.

I placed my hand on Jimin hyung's fluffy and soft hair to hold his head steady and placed my other hand on his nose. I looked him in the eye and counted, "1......2...." and crack. I had set his nose straight on 2 instead of 3 to catch him off guard. He screamed. I had expected him to scream but not so loudly.

He screamed so loud that everyone rushed downstairs in panic and stared at us. It was of course an awkward sight for Jimin hyung was screaming while Kookie hyung was holding onto him and my hand was on his nose. Everyone kept on staring at us in surprise.

I motioned for Kookie hyung to leave Jimin hyung while I turned to the others with an exasperated look and said, "Stop staring at us like that. Kookie hyung was helping me set Jimin hyung's nose straight. I broke his nose by mistake." A greater look of surprise took over their faces. TaeTae hyung was the first to react, "How can you even break someone's nose by mistake?"

"Well, I was sitting in my room when he came in. I did not notice him, and so he had the stupid idea to suddenly come in front of my face and shout loudly! Well, you can see what happened. I was caught off guard and punched him in his face out of instinct, breaking his nose. And then he has the audacity to ask me what had he done to get a bloody broken nose!?"

A few moments of silence, and everyone burst into laughter. I had expected them to scold me for not being careful. Instead, they laughed? They were nearly in tears due to laughter. Uncle Yoongi noticed my confused look and asked, "Why are you so confused?" I don't answer.

He pauses for a moment and explains, "Don't worry. It's okay, it's not your fault at all. If anything, it's Jimin's fault. We have told Jimin a thousand times not to surprise people like this. And every time he has surprised someone like this, it ends with him getting hurt tho getting punched in the face is new for him."

The ball of guilt managed to stay even though I nodded in understanding. I went back to Jimin hyung who was still screaming and said, "You do realize hyung, that everyone is here and I already set your nose straight. The pain should be decreased by now as well..." He stopped screaming immediately and moved his nose. He nodded after making sure that his nose was set right and it wasn't paining much.

I rolled my eyes at his over reaction and sat down on the couch when I suddenly realized that I had forgotten to ask him the reason behind coming to my room. I asked, "Hyung, why did you even come to my room?" Namjoon hyung answered for Jimin hyung, "Me and Jimin are going for a movie and decided to take you with us. Come on. Go and get ready. We are leaving in 10 minutes."

I nodded and went up to my room to get dressed. Something felt fishy. I don't know why but I had a nagging feeling that I was forgetting something and these people were up to something. I decided to ignore it and went downstairs after getting dressed.
