47. Runaway

Hwan - Jangmi's POV

Everyone was already present downstairs when we came. I sat down between Jimin hyung and Hobi hyung. The overall atmosphere was a bit tense. But I managed to ease the tension by joking with everyone. It didn't take long before the atmosphere was light and everyone was chatting while eating.

I quietly heaved a sigh once everyone was smiling. I smiled at my stupidity. No matter what I do, their life was never going to be the same, with or without me. And if I can't do anything about the fact that their lives have changed, I can make sure it's safe and better without me. I put away my thoughts and joined the conversations, enjoying my last family dinner.

After dinner everyone decided to go to bed as they were all tired. I could see that everyone was tired enough to fall asleep immediately. I felt like I should give them a proper goodbye. They deserved it. They've done so much for me. Before anyone went back to their rooms, I hugged all of them one by one tightly before saying good night and going back to my room.

I waited for an hour before texting Kwang. He was on his way here while I changed into a discreet looking outfit. I picked up my bag and the envelope along with two guns. I closed the door to my room and stood outside Uncle Yoongi's room. I carefully opened the door making sure to be noiseless and softly tiptoed in. He was asleep. Curled up into a ball, breathing softly.

I placed the guns inside the envelope and put it on his desk. The envelope contained a letter. A sorry letter telling them why I left and some other stuff that I needed to get off my mind. I decided to leave the guns for them as it would keep me assured that they could protect themselves when I'm not there.

I bent down near Uncle's bed and gently took his hand in mine. I had to do something to let out my guilt. The guilt for lying to them. For leaving. Leaving them in the dark. Putting them in danger. It was all eating me. I sighed and started speaking softly to Uncle Yoongi knowing that he's asleep and won't be hearing anything, "I'm really sorry. Sorry for everything. I hate that I had to lie to you. I hope you will forgive me and forget me. Goodbye Uncle."

I stand up and kiss his forehead before turning my back to him and leaving the room, hoping that all my fears and emotions would stop following me too.

Kwang was very punctual. He was standing outside waiting for me. I took a deep breath. It was show time. There was no room for all the feelings and emotions I had developed after living here. I had to become the old me. The me, who wouldn't trust people easily and could keep herself safe. I nodded to myself and made my way over to Kwang.

"Kwang, thank you for doing this. I need to leave or else they will be in danger. You know how important they are to me. One scratch on them and I'll have all of you by your throats. Make sure they don't leave this house before 5 pm tomorrow. I think that I'll either be done with my work by then or will be dead. Let's hope for the latter."

I said to Kwang and extended a hand towards him. "It was a pleasure working with you. Goodbye." He accepted my hand and gave a firm handshake before bowing in respect. I bowed back and left after giving him a polite smile. I reached the main gate and turned to see the house for the last time. I never realized how I had managed to let them sneak into my heart and make place for themselves.

With great difficulty I turned my back to the house. I could not afford to be weak right now. I had to be strong. I took a deep shaky breath and walked out of the gates ready to save people.

Yoongi's POV

Yoongi's Room

All of us went to sleep after dinner. It had been a long day. I came to my room and laid down on my bed. I fell asleep soon enough. Suddenly I woke up. My room was dark. I stayed as I was and tried to find the source of the noise. I felt some movement near my desk. I immediately closed my eyes. Someone bent down by my side and took my hand in theirs.

As soon as the hand touched me I realized it was Hwan. Before I could do anything he started speaking, "I'm really sorry. Sorry for everything. I hate that I had to lie to you. I hope you will forgive me and forget me. Goodbye Uncle." I was surprised. What is this boy up to? I thought he would leave now, but he did something that surprised me. He bent and kissed my forehead before leaving the room. I waited for a few minutes before carefully sitting up on my bed. I was still shocked, what did he even mean by that?

I remembered that he placed something on my desk. I swiftly stood up and walked towards my desk. There was a big envelope with something heavy inside? It felt like my worst nightmare was coming true. My eyes widened in shock. I picked up the envelope before rushing to the window in time to see Hwan leaving the house. There were some men standing outside. I had to wake everyone up.

At once, I ran out of my room and started banging everyone's doors. I did not have the time to go in and wake them up personally. And as expected the only Namjoon and Jin Hyung came out. They were rubbing their eyes with frowns on their faces. "What in the world do you want Yoongi in the middle of the night?" asked Jin hyung with a groan.

I grabbed them by their clothes and asked them to go wake everyone up. Namjoon went to wake up Hobi and Jimin, who shared a room, while I sent Jin hyung to wake up Jungkook. Jin hyung was the only one who could wake up Jungkook easily. I went into Taehyung's room and shook him. "Tae! Wake up right now! Something happened. Quick!"

He did not move an inch. I was losing my patience. I grabbed him by his hand and pulled him off the bed. How can he sleep still!? Taehyung didn't even react a bit to me moving him. I had no other option. I used all my strength and made Tae stand up and pulled him out of the room. Everyone was standing outside half asleep.

They looked at me in surprise. Jimin came forward and closed Tae's nose with his hand. It took less than a second for Taehyung to wake up. Tae looked around in confusion but it seemed that Jimin was aware something was wrong as he dragged Tae with him and stood beside the others telling him to keep quiet. Everyone waited for me to speak. "Hwan ran away." All the sleepiness vanished. Everyone stood looking shocked.
