42. The Gifts

Jangmi - Hwan's Room

Hwan - Jangmi's POV

There was still quite a lot of time till breakfast. I decided to call Kwang and ask him for an update about Daniel Krasinski. He immediately picked up the phone, "Annyeonghaseyo Hwan. I was able to get a contact to help you go near Daniel." I smiled and replied, "Thank you, Kwang."

I put down the phone and waited for Kwang to send the contact. I never regretted my decision of accepting Kwang's help. He's quite comfortable with me now. We are able to co-operate very easily now as we have gotten familiar with each other's working style. He could guess what I needed and why I did some things in a particular way.

Ding. My phone lit up with a message. Kwang sent the contact. Marcus Lowry. I immediately dialed the number. "Hello?" There was no response. I waited for a few seconds before saying, "I need to talk to Lowry." There was a sound of rustling before a voice came, "Who are you? What do you want?"

"You don't need to know who I am. I need to get in contact with Daniel Krasinski."

"Who the hell are you? Why do you need to talk to him?"

I sighed. This guy was being way too difficult. I had to give him some information. "I'm Hwan. Daniel had something of mine which I would like back." There was complete silence for a few moments before he spoke, "Today you will receive a call and know what to do further. A warning for you. He is very dangerous and has his eyes set on you for a long time. Better to run or else people near you will get hurt and you won't be able to save them. He knows everything about you."

The phone cut. I put my phone down and sat down by my desk. This guy was not lying about Daniel. I could hear it in his voice that he was serious about everything he said regarding Daniel. I have to do something as soon as possible or else I'll be placing everyone in danger.

Before I could think of anything someone knocked on my door. I stood up and opened the door. It was Hobi hyung. He had come to call me for breakfast. I took the bag filled with gifts and went down along with him. I had not been able to open the gifts yesterday because of the exhaustion and decided to open it with everyone in the morning.

Downstairs

Narrator's POV

After breakfast, everyone gathered in the living room for Hwan asked them to. Everyone settled down and waited for Hwan. He came in with the bag of gifts and sat down on the floor, "I was too tired yesterday to open the gifts. So, I want to open the gifts with you all." Everyone smiled and nodded.

Hwan took out the first gift. It was a phone cover. A customized phone cover with a group photo of him and BTS. Hwan immediately took off his old cover and placed the new one. "I love it! Who gave this?" Immediately Jin spoke up, "Wait! You guess who gave the gifts. Okay?" Hwan nodded and proceeded to look at everyone one by one. "Hmm... Jimin hyung!" Jimin smiled and nodded. Jungkook looked at Hwan with surprise and asked, "How did you know it was him?" Hwan rolled his eyes and said, "He was the only one in this room smiling proudly. He's of course proud of his gift because he knew I would like it."

Jungkook nodded in understanding. Hwan took out a set of things from Gucci. It consisted of a Gucci pant, shirt, jacket, wallet and belt. Hwan turned to Taehyung and thanked him. No one said anything because this was the most obvious gift. No one in the house except Taehyung would gift Gucci. The next gift was a lamp. A cute little bunny lamp. Hwan turned to Jungkook, "This is so cute. I love bunnies. And I needed a lamp anyways. I forgot to buy one before. Thank you so much!!"

Hwan removed 3 gifts from the bag, a pair of black sneakers, a colorful clutch and a beautiful charm bracelet. It was clear from Hwan's face that he was genuinely happy and loved the gifts. "The clutch is definitely from Hobi hyung. He loves this kind of thing and knew that I wanted one. Now I'm confused between the bracelet and sneakers. These are from Namjoon and Jin hyung." said Hwan, smiling at Jin and Namjoon.

"I got it! The sneakers are from Namjoon hyung. He knows I love black colored things a lot. And Jin hyung loves jewelry and has a good taste for it as well." Hwan stood up and asked Jin to help him wear the bracelet. After getting the bracelet on Hwan sat down and took out an album. A handmade album.

Hwan looked up to Yoongi with a smile, "Don't tell me you made this on your own Uncle..." Yoongi smiled his gummy smile shyly. Everyone was shocked. Yoongi gave Hwan a handmade gift! Hwan opened the album, it was filled with photos of Hwan and Hanguel when Hwan was a child along with photos of Yoongi and Hanguel's childhood. Everyone stood up and gathered around Hwan to look at the photos.

They were through the whole album. The album was now in Taehyung's hand. He turned to the last page on the album. There was a photo of a man and a woman at their wedding. Jimin took the album from Taehyung's hand and asked Hwan, who had moved to sit with Yoongi while the others went through the album, "Is this your Mum and Dad?"

Hwan took the album to see the picture. He was still talking to Yoongi when he turned his attention to the photo. He suddenly stopped speaking as he stared at the photo. His eyes widened in shock. Everyone looked at Hwan. Hwan's heart was racing. He gulped and turned to Yoongi. "Is this my father?" asked Hwan in a shaky voice.

Yoongi nodded, "Why? Haven't you seen his pictures?" Hwan took a deep breath to calm his panic and replied, "After he died, I've never seen his photos. And when he died I was too young to remember him. So I've not seen his pictures." Everyone nodded in understanding. That's why his reaction was weird. "Where did you get this photo from Uncle?" "Rosa helped me out. She got me these photos."

For some reason Hwan's face turned pale. He stood up and picked up his gifts. He excused himself and ran back to his room. Everyone watched Hwan go into his room wondering what was wrong with him. Little did they know that this was just the start of a big trouble, on its way to ruin their lives.
