Hayes POV
"Amber, I cannot go to LA with you." Even though that sounds fantastic.
"And why not?"
"Because I can't afford a plane ticket."
"I got you covered."
"You're not paying."
"And you're not winning this argument." Amber smiles and so do I. LA with Amber: perfect spring break. Even with Hunter there I can't think of anything better.
"I guess my mom'll be okay with it..."
"I really want you to come."
"You do?"
"Yes."
"Okay." Amber screams and hugs me. Well spring break looks amazing already.
We head back downstairs to mingle and get more food of course. My mom didn't come since I couldn't pry her out of bed. I'm trying not to give up on the hopes of her becoming a mother again but it's hard. Really hard.
"I need something to drink." Amber says pulling my hand.
"You're not 21."
"I meant a Pepsi you idiot." We walk to the elaborate drink table where there is someone pouring the soda of your choice. Seriously, how did they afford this.
"For you, madame." The drink pourer says as he gives the drink to Amber. Well that's polite. I get water and we head to the family room. There are a ton of people and everyone seems to be rich and hoity toity. Usually this situation would annoy me but with Amber by my side I can tolerate it. Honestly, I fall for her even more each second. If only I knew if she felt the same way.
"Hey Amber." Hunter of course has appeared next to Amber.
"Hey Hunter." She giggles and I'm confused. Uh, isn't he like a dick to her. "I like your tie." She flicks it and giggles again. I don't say anything, just stand behind Amber.
"I like your face. Wanna go to your room?" Hunter asks while completely ignoring me of course. Amber nods and takes his hand. Somethings up, Amber's not stupid. He slapped her and called her a slut, she wouldn't voluntarily go to a bedroom with him.
I pull on Amber's other hand and she looks back. She swings both mine and Hunter's hands like it's a game.
"Hayes, I think Amber wants to go with me. I'm sorry." Hunter says and starts to lead Amber away again.
"Byee Hayes!" She says as she follows him. I go after them knowing something's not right.
They've reached the stairs when I catch up.
"Hey Amber, let's go outside." I say trying to pull her away from Hunter.
"Oh later Hayes, Hunter is showing me something cool in my room." Amber says and continues to climb the steps.
"Something cool alright." I hear Hunter mumble.
I pull on her arm again. Hunter turns around and says, "Hayes it's obvious she doesn't want you. Why don't you just go kill someone and leave us alone." Normally at this point I would've hurt Hunter already, but I promised I'd control myself.
Instead, I sigh and say, "There are spring rolls Amber." Food gets her attention and she soon comes back to me.
"Amber you're coming with me." Hunter says grabbing her arm.
"Ooh I love tug of war." Amber giggles.
"Hunter I'm going to tell you once. Let go of her." I say holding Amber's hand.
