Hayes POV
Olivia and Will. Who would've predicted that?
Over the next couple of weeks, I continue to hang with Amber of course while Olivia and Will begin their love. I can tell Will really like her and same for Olivia. They're almost as good a couple as Amber and I.
It's April now, 1 month till graduation. And prom but who cares. And 1 month after LA. And 1 month after my mother died.
On a sunny Saturday morning, Will has invited Amber, Olivia, and I to a football game. It's the Houston Cougars against the college from Florida he graduated from last year. We're meeting him there though.
Amber and Olivia pick me up from the apartment and I slide into the backseat.
"Hello ladies."
"Hola." Olivia says and I grin. She's really gotten a lot happier since she started dating my brother, it's like she's forgotten Nick completely.
"Como te llamas?" I ask her demonstrating the only Spanish I know.
"You already know my name idiot." Olivia says laughing and I shrug. She's like my older sister now, I spend so much time at Amber's house. And ever since her parents found out that I protected Amber from Hunter, they like me too. It's good to have a family when I don't have much.
We arrive at the arena and quickly find our seats. Olivia sits down next to Will, Amber sits beside her, and I take the last seat next to Amber.
"I don't understand football at all." Amber whispers to me as we sit down.
I laugh since I pretty much know everything there is to know, my dad made all of us play.
"I'll explain it." I tell her and she smiles.
The game starts, Will cheers, Olivia cheers, I cheer, Amber cheers. It's a pretty interesting game but I'm too busy watching Amber watch. She looks beautiful wearing just shorts and a tank top and my snapback on head. She constantly asks me what's happening and why people are cheering and I laugh at how cute she is. At this moment in time, it's one of the times I like life. I don't want to die.
The game is over, Houston won, probably because Will isn't on Florida's team anymore. We walk down the steps toward the parking lot and Will and Olivia walk a little behind us like they're chaperones or something.
"My friend Ricky's throwing a party tonight wanna come?" Will asks us.
I shrug and Amber shrugs back. Olivia shrugs and Will shrugs.
"Ok yeah." I answer since we're too busy shrugging. The last time I went to a party was a huge one at this guy Derek's house. Wait, that's when I stopped that guy from touching Amber. Then night when we talked all night. And I told her I couldn't tell her what I did. I haven't been to a party in a long time.
"Hey the last time I went to a party, we had just met." Amber says as we walk back to the car. She must've been thinking the exact same thing I was.
"We weren't together." I say wrapping my arm around her shoulder.
"I still thought you were hot."
"Well obviously." Amber laughs and I think how much happier I've gotten these past few months. All thanks to her.
"So did you tell Will about your mother?" Amber whispers as we both slide into the backseat. I nod. You see, right before Will went to college in Florida, he had this huge fight with my parents about leaving Texas. This argument resulted in him never talking to them again, and only texting me occasionally. After he came back to Houston a year ago, he never visited my parents and I, I only saw him sometimes. He attended my dad's funeral but never patched up his relationship with my mom. He was just another one of my brother's who I lost.
