Amber POV
After school, Hunter has basketball practice so I ask Hayes if he wants to come home with me. Okay I know it's really weird how I think Hayes is so hot and fun but I still love Hunter. Hayes is like a best friend. Hayes agrees and we head to my car.
"This is yours?" His jaw drops, the typical reaction. A lot of people think I'm really mean and stuck up because of my parents being successful but I really have to work hard for eveything.
"Nah it's my great aunt Cherry's." I smirk at him so he knows I'm kidding. We hop in and I turn on the radio. It Wont Stop by Sevyn Streeter comes on and I start singing immediately cause it's my jam. Hayes jumps in on the Chris Brown parts and we continue our duet the whole ride to my house.
"Dude we're kind of fantastic." Hayes says laughing.
"I know right?" I turn into my driveway and Hayes's jaw drops yet again.
"This is your house?"
"You're going to have to stop doing that." I say unlocking the door into the front hall. He steps in behind me and his jaw is still not closed.
"This is your-sorry." I call to my mom but she's not home. I know she probably left me a note and I find one in the kitchen.
Amber, Had to rush to the office. Your dad and I will both be home around 11:30 ish. I made you some cookies and there's 30 dollars for your dinner. Love you, Mom.
"That's nice of your mom to make cookies." Hayes says and I shrug.
"Well alrighty then, I guess we're alone." I bite into a cookie and Hayes wiggles his eyebrows suggestively.
"Oh shut up." I grab the plate of cookies and start heading to the basement. Hayes follows and we walk down the stairs. I flick on the lights and immediately head for the big L-shaped sofa. He doesn't say a word about our finished basement and I appreciate him not marveling over it. We both don't have any homework, thank god, so we decide to watch some Honey Boo Boo.
"This show is disgusting." Hayes says laughing.
"Please, this is high entertainment." We watch about 5 episodes and it's already 5:00.
"Do your parents care when you get home?" I ask him, splitting the last cookie with him.
"Nah my mom doesn't really worry about me. It's cool sometimes, but other times I wish she would punish me you know like show she loves me." He sighs and I wonder what it's like for his life to be like that. My parents always care WAY too much and I can't stand their constant nagging. I can't imagine what his life is like.
"Well you want to stay for dinner?" I ask Hayes.
"Totally. What are we having?"
"I was thinking takeout Korean Barbeque."
"Perfect." I order onlline as my phone rings. I see it's Hunter and I walk over to the bar area to answer it. Hayes flips through channels looking for good tv we can make fun of.
"Hey babe how was practice?" I ask Hunter.
"Usual you know. What are you up to?"
"Just binge watching Honey Boo Boo. Hayes is over." I don't think Hunter will mind me hanging out with Hayes, I have guy friends he has girl friends. We trust each other.
"That new kid?"
"That's him."
"Babe isn't he dangerous? I mean, he got kicked out of his old school and I heard he was almost set to jail." Almost sent to jail? I didn't know it was that serious. Rumors.
