ah, you could hear me loudly breathe when i read that a 15-year-old girl with adhd was sent to juvenile detention by a judge for not completing homework. the district has a long history of prejudice.
it hit too close to home with me.
adhd is a fucking neurological disorder. it's something you're born with or, in very rare cases, get due to brain trauma.
fuck, i'd go into a long rant about how stupid and selfish it is to be ableist against people with adhd.
it's a deficiency in dopamine. it's a deficiency of the executive functions. it affects the brain in so many ways.
i'm afraid of people judging me for it. i won't tell anyone i don't trust irl. it's been hard for me to tell the people that need to know cuz i'm afraid.
discriminating anyone cuz of something they can't help is just stupid and selfish in general. race, ethnicity, gender, or other forms of disabilities and the like. i wouldn't wish it on others. i don't.
