Harley ran his hands through his hair. The Abyss! What on earth was Lylia there for? What was she thinking? The Abyss was dangerous, full of demons who would grasp every opportunity to attack an innocent Lightborn girl.

Or was Lylia Lightborn? Harley grappled with yet another question. He knew she was a Dark Wizard, that was for sure. Lylia had said it herself. "She can't be directly Darkborn, or she would never have been allowed to come here, the centre of the Moniyan Empire," he said thoughtfully. Harley sighed in regret. He had thought he knew his best friend inside-out, but he was obviously wrong. Was it something he did wrong? Was that why Lylia left him?

Meanwhile, Alice was standing over a cauldron filled with a blood-like substance. She scooped some out carefully and held it to Lylia's mouth. "Drink, my dear," she whispered to the sleeping girl and poured it down her throat. A moment passed before Lylia opened her now blood-red eyes and croaked, "What can I do for you, my queen?"

Alice laughed in satisfaction. "Very good, my dear. What about staging an uprising against our mortal enemy?" Lylia nodded robotically and left her room, a proud Alice behind her.
