Harith gritted his teeth and cast spell after spell, trying to keep away the demons. He looked back at the retreating Harley, Lylia fast asleep in his arms. Then, he gazed upwards to the brightly-glowing net. Nana. The Feline Witch was still knocked out and lying peacefully there. He frowned. How was he ever going to rescue her? He couldn't leave Barats alone.
He turned around to check on Barats, then gagged as Rahal spat out a slimy Moskov. Barats grinned at him as Moskov staggered away, disgusted. "You okay?" the Dino Rider called. Harith nodded weakly and returned to fighting demons.
Meanwhile, Harley burst out of the hall and into the corridor. The twists and turns of the hallways were no longer a concern; he had Lylia now. That was all that mattered. He panted as he ran along. The flying spell having exhausted his mana, he could no longer use his teleportation magic and go faster. He willed himself to sprint for the final leg, Lylia a deadweight in his arms.
Finally. The domed room with a gaping hole in the ceiling. The Crack of the Abyss. Harley's way out. A small smile brushed the corner of his mouth as he watched the blue sky.
"Ack!" he cried out. A forceful red explosion had suddenly immobilised him, leaving him helpless. Harley winced, and when he opened his eyes, the Queen of the Apocalypse stood in front of him, a Blood Orb in her hand.
She smiled smugly at the Mage Genius. "Do not forget, I see all in the Abyss, little boy. Do you think I will allow you to take the Little Witch away so easily?"
Harley glared at her. Being unable to move, he had no way of defending Lylia at all. Alice smiled again and moved to take Lylia from him. Then, the unthinkable happened.
