Chapter Twenty

Unfortunately, the moment Harley stepped back into school, he knew it was too late. Demons were already circling overhead like vultures, swarming the Academy. Some professors tried their best to fend them off as well, but they had been caught by surprise and didn't seem to be doing very well. In the school building, Harley ran through the dormitories, trying his best to wake everyone up. "Go, go and fight if you can!" he yelled. "The professors need our help!"

Not too long afterwards, a myriad of students was standing outside, attempting to scare the demons away. Their attacks were to no avail. The relentless demons kept coming back in waves, the horned, winged woman cackling nastily the whole time. But what really broke Harley's heart was the sight of Lylia joining them to attack. "What is she doing?" he thought, throwing out his penultimate deck of cards. "What did I do to offend her?"

Meanwhile, Harith and Nana were fighting back to back when the Blood Demon couple, Cecillion and Carmilla, flew up to attack them. "Ah, so sweet," Carmilla crooned. "So young, yet already in love."

"Hm, such a pity that you have to die!" Cecillion shouted, summoning claws to scratch the duo.

"Go, Molina!" Nana yelled, turning the male Blood Demon into a blue mouse.

Carmilla growled in anger and conjured a few crimson flowers, ready to throw them at Harith and Nana, when a ring of fire suddenly engulfed her. "Gotcha, Carmilla was caught," Harley sang.

"Haha, tremble!" Helcurt yelled as the world turned to black. Harley looked around calmly and sent out another flaming ring. A scream was heard and the darkness faded away. "Helcurt was caught!" Harley hummed.

Generally, that was how the battle went for Harley, throwing his poker cards and fiery rings to catch demons until only a few remained on the battlefield. When Alice saw this, she hissed furiously. "I thought that her presence would incapacitate the Mage Genius," she murmured. "Well, maybe this will. Lylia, dear, go after your Harley for me, please!" With a sharp nod, the possessed Lylia zipped after her friend.
