Even after an entire day of research, Harley still had no clue about who the vampire woman Barats had referred to was. There was only one thing left to do in order to figure it out. He had to execute the plan that had been rudely interrupted by the demon invasion when he first tried it.

That night, Harley crept out of the Magic Academy and glanced to the clouds. With no sign of demons lurking overhead, he traversed through the silent town to the edges of the Moniyan Empire. Not long later, he spotted his destination. The Crack of the Abyss, a large, gaping hole in the ground that stank of rotting flesh and sulfur. Harley pinched his nose and moved forward stealthily to the edge of the Crack, peering down into its depths. Thankfully, there was no river of lava or demon palace that Harley had been expecting. Instead, there seemed to be solid ground. He heaved a sigh of relief and secured a rope around his waist, tying the other end to a tree. Harley took in a deep breath and whispered to himself, "For Lylia!" Then, he plunged into the Crack of the Abyss.
