Everytime I Look In The Mirror

Everytime I look in the mirror,

I try to figure out what I see

I stare into the brown eyes of a lost girl

A girl who, once upon a time, had a genuine smile on her face

A girl whose first huge crush was literally the boy next door

A girl who has all the boys after her, but craves the attention

of the one she loves

I hear the words "beautiful" and "gorgeous" and even "sexy" but

I don't see any of that

I see a girl who has literally lost everything and who is so used to

pain, she doesn't know how to hold onto the happy moments

A girl whose whole world is literally falling apart right before her very eyes

and there's only two people in the whole world that seem to numb that

pain for her

and slow things down a little

A girl who needs constant reassurance, and yet still doesn't believe

because I don't see that

everytime I look in the mirror
