My Book of Poetry

You

You never told me how you felt about me,

but you were angered by mere thought of

another guy talking to me,

wanting me,

close to me

I withheld feelings inside me

cause I never thought you felt the same way

but your silence,

your expressions tell me everything

You were hurt before by another girl

but was too afraid to show it and make it

obvious, so you used the anger I saw

to express this to me

but I was too blind to realize

I let those guys in and was hurt

Then I realized it,

the reason you were so angered was because

you knew I was going to be hurt by them,

and you couldn't let your guard down till you

knew I was the right one

and seeing all that proved it

I had to be hurt by those guys in order to truly

appreciate and understand your love and you

Knowing you would never put me through the

pain you felt
