Comfort Zone

After going outside, you and Spence reunite with the group. "Now that you guys are back, let's officially start this celebration." Rossi says. "I agree, I already got a couple shots in, I'm feeling the dance floor." Morgan says with smile as he starts to dance with Garcia. Hotch walks over to you and hands you the tequila. "I believe this is yours." He says. "It sure is, thank you very much." You say back to him.

You notice Reid sits back down to where the group was before. He chose a seat in the corner that was far from everyone. You had a feeling Reid wasn't a party kind of guy but really? He wouldn't even have a little fun just once? "Got something on your mind? You can talk to me." JJ says as she approaches you. "Not much, just am confused on why Reid isn't here with us. He just sat back down, wouldn't he want to dance or anything?" You say to JJ. "That's Spencer Reid for you. We wonder why he doesn't choose to party with us too, I guess it's just how he is." She says shrugging her shoulders. "Yeah, I guess so." You say agreeing with her. "Don't worry about him, let's head to the dance floor. Morgan and Garcia are getting pretty hot over there."

JJ says pointing at the two of them grinding on each other. You both laugh as she takes your hand and leads the way. "Hey girl, you got here just in time. I'm going to get us a couple more drinks, would you like anything?" Garcia says looking at you. "No thank you, I'm good for now." You say back to her with a smile. "Come on princess, show me what you got." Morgan says to you as he grabs your waist and starts to dance with you.

The friendship you had with Morgan was one of a kind. You enjoyed Morgan's company, he was family to you. As you are dancing with Morgan, you notice Emily by the DJ telling him a song request. A few moments later, "Yeah!" by Usher starts blasting on the speakers. "Now it's a party." Morgan says laughing with his arms around you. Morgan twirls you around and starts grinding on you. You laugh and go along with the moves he was doing. "Go Morgan, Go y/n." Hotch and Rossi repeatedly shouted.

JJ and Emily start to dance as well. This was easily one of the best nights you've had in forever. Garcia comes back with new drinks for Morgan and Emily. You stop dancing with Morgan so he can relax and have a drink. You get off the dance floor for a bit to get some water, you were so sweaty from going crazy with Morgan and the girls. As you get yourself a drink, you notice Reid writing in his journal yet again.

You sigh and make your way over to him. "I'm not leaving this room until you get on that dance floor with me." You say crossing your arms at him. "Y/n, I don't dance." Reid says with an irritated look. "Please. Just once, give me 5 minutes I beg you." You say tugging Reid's arm. After a few moments of you begging, he rolls his eyes and gets up from his chair. "Thank you, I owe you."

You say to him with a smile, he smiles back at you and says, "You definitely do." As you lead him to the dance floor, you notice more people coming into the club. You didn't mind, you just thought it was more exclusive than a regular club. Another song comes on and you grab Spencer's hands. This song was extremely upbeat and super fast. "No way pretty boy is on the dance floor right now. I know i've had over 6 drinks but I can not be hallucinating this." Morgan says with a shocked expression. "Yeah, trust me I didn't think Id be on the dance floor either." Spencer says shaking his head.

"Oh shush, let's dance pretty boy." You say mocking Morgan's nickname for him. Spencer smiles at you and begins to start dancing. Surprisingly, Spencer was a great dancer. He had rhythm and he let the music control his body. The tequila started to gradually hit you, so you got more risky on the floor. You started to grind upon Spencer and as you did, he looked extremely shocked, but he went along with it. You were having a great time with Spencer and you felt so free.

After a couple minutes of you both dancing, a random man comes up to you and taps your shoulder. "Yes?" You say looking back confused. "Care to dance with me? You look so beautiful I couldn't resist." The man says. You look back at Spencer confused, you look back at the man and say, "no thank you, I'm good." "Please come on, I want to get my hands on you tonight. It'll only be a few minutes." He says nagging on. "I said no." You say sternly. The man goes to say something else but gets interrupted by Spencer. "For your information, she is taken. Now, I'd suggest you get out of my sight and apologize to her before something bad happens to you." Spencer says with attitude.

Where the hell did that come from? The man looked shocked and immediately apologized. The man walked away with a nervous expression. "Spencer, you didn't have to do that I could've handled it." You say cupping your hand against his face. "No, I did have to do that. He was making you uncomfortable. That's the last thing I want, for you to be uncomfortable." He says with a slight smirk. You smile at him and shake your head. It was getting late and half the group was drunk. Rossi thanked everyone for coming and started to order Ubers for Morgan, JJ, and Emily since they got wasted.

You say your goodbyes to everyone and you start to make your way out of the building with Garcia. "Are you okay to drive?" You ask her. "Don't worry, I didn't have much tonight. We have a lot to talk about in the car." She says raising her eyebrows at you. A lot to talk about in the car? What was there to talk about, you thought to yourself. You and Garcia enter her car and start to buckle your seatbelts.

"First off, you rocked it tonight. I loved seeing you dance with everybody! You even got Reid to dance. He has never danced in the years we've had him at the BAU." She says with a surprised look on her face. You are shocked by what she had just said. "Seriously? He has never danced until tonight?" You say gasping. "Seriously girl. Speaking of Reid, we all saw what he did out there." She says with a grin.

You thought about what she had said for a moment. "You mean the guy who walked up to me? He was just being a good friend and defending me." You say confused. "No no sugar plum. Did you not hear what he said? He told the guy that you were taken. TAKEN. Good friends don't just randomly say that." She emphasized. You thought about the dance floor for a minute. Spencer had said that you were taken?

"I don't even remember him saying that." You say shocked. "Well he sure did, and the whole BAU heard it. I don't know what type of spell you casted on him tonight but the fact that he danced, had actual fun, and defended you in one night. Absolute miracle." She says smiling at you. "It's probably nothing, don't get your hopes up Penelope." You say smiling back at her. "Mhmm, totally nothing y/n. Totally nothing." She says still with a smile on her face. A few moments pass and you are now in front of your apartment complex.

"I'm glad you had fun tonight, call me if you need anything. I'll see you soon, Miss Reid." Garcia says giving you a hug and a kiss as she drops you off. "What did you say? Miss who now?" You say as you look back at her trying not to laugh. "I'm just kidding, totally wasn't kidding, anyway goodnight!" She says driving off. You start to laugh as you unlock your front door. You think about how insane tonight was. How fun dancing with the group was, how nice it was to see everybody smile, and how you got Reid to step out of his comfort zone.

You kick off your heels and make your way to your bedroom. You quickly undress and hop in the shower. 20 minutes go by, and you are nice and clean. You put on a pair of pajamas and slide into bed. Ahh, much better. Right as you get comfy, you get a notification. You reach over and grab your phone, it was Spencer.

Spencer: Hey y/n. Hope you had fun tonight, thank you for keeping me company. See you soon.
Y/N: Thank you for everything you did tonight, I appreciate it. See you soon.

You finally put your phone down and started to rest. What a night.
