It was school and I tried to keep everything together through the day but today seemed to go slower than my usual days. All day I had either Sarah or someone else talking to me and my headache didn't seem to get much better. I walked to lunch by myself as I finally got rid of Sarah.

When I got into the cafeteria I found Luke sitting alone by a round table. It surprised me since we never had lunch together. He must be skipping class.

I took my tray with my lunch on and sat down next to him.

"What are you doing here?" I asked as I unwrapped my sandwich from the plastic.

He shrugged, "I was looking for you."

"Don't you have class?" I asked, suddenly feeling bad that he missed class because of me.

"Yes, but I have to talk to you."

I suddenly felt a knot in my stomach and I swallowed a bit of my sandwich. "What is it?" I asked.

"You know, when I told you about... The girl." he started, "Well I really didn't have the chance to ask you what I was gonna do about it."

I thought for a second, not sure what to say since I wasn't actually sure it was me. I couldn't really tell him to go for it. Either way, I didn't answer him directly. I massaged my temples them looking up only to meet his confused blue eyes. Why did I always think like this when I had bad days?

"Maybe you should just... Fuck it, I don't know Luke!" I snapped.

"Oh, shit. You know what, I don't even wanna talk to you today because you're in your shit-mood so whatever!" his voice raised at me. Some eyes turning our way.

"I'm sorry Luke. Wait!" I said, as he began to stand up. I pulled him down.

He gave me a look that would have said, 'I don't have time for this'.

"Since you are already here, you can keep me company right?" I asked, "We can split my sandwich?" I split the sandwich in two pieces and handed one half to him, the big one. He gave me a goofy smile and I returned it. "Sorry. I think you should just... I really suck at this."

"I know," he winked, "but I forgive you."

I punched his upper arm playfully. "Maybe you should just see where it takes you." I said in an attempt to convince him I did not suck at this so much.

"You really do suck." Luke giggled.

"Girl problems are not my thing, boy problems are." I joked.

He chuckled a little then took a bite from the half of sandwich he had. He ran a hand through his hair, then let it fall to his knee. I put my hand over his, which I totally regretted once I did it. He looked up at me and I pulled my hand back and picked up my juice.

"You see the thing is, she is so beautiful and I get that A- this guy likes her. But I just really like her and I did it before he liked her."

"You sound like a little kid crying to his mom about a boll someone took from you." I sighed, but still smiling a little. He lifted his hand and started fiddling with my wristbands. We almost had matching bands, but he liked to play with mine for some reason. He always did it. Just that now, when his fingers touched by my skin, chills ran down my neck making the hair on it rise. I tried to act normal but I somehow felt nervous and my palms started sweating a little. He looked up at me and smiled. "This one is new." he said, holding a black one with a white tally representing the number five.

"Yeah, it reminds me of your band." I said, my cheeks suddenly heating up.

"Five Seconds of Summer." he said, like he was deep in thought.
