We sat on the bus on our way home. I leaned my head on Lukes shoulder closing my eyes. His breathing was heavy. He put an arm around me and leaned in. It still felt weird to lie in his arms as he had just told me he had a crush on my best friend.

"Here, listen." he said. He gave me one of his earplugs so that we could listen together. The music started playing and I knew exactly which song it was. Blink-182, All The Small Things. I didn't know why he wanted me to listen to it since I've heard it a thousand times. They began singing but this wasn't the original, it was a cover. I looked at him my eyes wide. Luke sang first, then Calum, everyone sang chorus, Michael then back to chorus and so on.

"It's you!" I said, looking at him, my eyes widened. I hit his arm. "Why haven't you told me!"

"Surprise!" he said. Showing his hands and wiggling his fingers.

"This is great!" I told him. "You have to play this on your show. God, have you guys even practiced?" I asked him.

"Yes. Whole last week. That's why I couldn't call or text you." he said.

I nodded, understanding that he was too busy practicing and that's why he couldn't call me.

"Sorry if I didn't call you either." I said, feeling the guilt.

"I had an excuse!" he said. Folding his arms over his chest, pouting with his mouth.

"I'm sorry!" I whined.

He shook his head now, pointing at me like he was lecturing me. "From now on you have to call me at least one time each day."

"What? That's insane."

He shrugged a little and I looked to the sign in the bus and saw that we had passed our station far long ago. I automatically stood up, Luke surprised by my action.

"But get up! We missed our station!" I said. He immediately stood up and cursed.

We stepped off the bus.

"It's not my fault!" he said as I stared at him.

"Good for you it's not that cold anymore." I said sharply, walking over the road and he followed me like a puppy.

We sat down on the bench and waited for the bus. I breathed out. We both were staring forward not looking at one another.

"Luke." I said, still not facing him.

I saw him turn to me in the corner of my eye.

"Yeah?" he said.

"Do you remember the first times we met?" I asked him.

He chuckled a little. "Please don't remind me."

"Do you remember when you tried to kiss me?" I looked at him now, ignoring what he had just told me.

"Yeah." a small smile appeared on his lips, barely noticeable.

I turned to the road again, "Okay." I said and then I stood up to get on the bus as it drove in.

I put on a pair of black jeans and a Nirvana shirt that I borrowed from Luke. I dragged on my Dr.Martens and went down stairs. Today was the show at The Diner. The boys had practiced for about two weeks and now it was time. Mom was suppose to drop me off at The Diner, I had told her some boys in my school had put up posters of their band having a show today and that me and Sarah was gonna go and check them out. Mom said she was only dropping me off since 'high-school-bands' was nothing for her as he had put it. I put on my leather jacket and called for her.
