"No. No. No. That's a no." I said, looking at him.
Luke sat on a bench outside school and I stood in front of him with my arms folded.
"Come on!" he whined. "It'll be fun."
I looked anywhere but on him, "No, I'm not gonna do it." I said.
He rolled his eyes. His hands wrapped around my wrists and he pulled me down to sit with him. "Why?"
"I've told you like three times, why. I'm not gonna do it."
So the thing was, Luke was so caught up on me singing so he wanted me to sing like some kind of opening for their show on sunday. Today it was wednesday.
"Please, please please!"
I shook my head, I wasn't gonna do it. "No, Luke. Can you just respect that I don't want to? I don't like singing in front of people okay? It actually took a lot of courage for me to sing in front of you but I wanted you to sing so bad for me so I had too."
He looked at me, then his eyes falling down to my wrists -which were covered by my jacket. But he brought his hands inside of the jacket and before I could think I pulled my hands to my body.
"You're cold." I lied when he gave me a confused look.
"I wanted to play with your bands." he said.
I shook my head at him, "Your fingers are cold." He looked away, and his face fell down. I felt bad for him, he had done so much for me and all I did was yelling at him. Maybe I could do it.
I sighed and then cleared my throat. "Okay. I'll do it."
"Really?" he shone up.
"Yeah." He smiled and wrapped me in his arms.
"God, I love you." he said before he could rethink that. We always used to say that to each other when we were friends, but we weren't kissing back then. And now it only felt weird. I pulled back we both were red on our cheeks.
"You know what I mean." he said.
I laughed at him and then smiled. "Sure I do." I replied. "You're really into me, aren't ya?" I teased him.To my surprise he played along. "Of course I am." he said, giving me a fake smile I returned it and stuck out my tongue at him.
"Watch what you're saying, I maybe change my mind."
"Sorry." he said and shrugged his shoulders. "We have to practice now!" he said, and stood up.
"But Luke, it's just wednesday. We got time."
"I want you to be prepared come on."
We sat in his room, (his mom was not home). His walls were painted this light green color, they were pretty disgusting but I didn't say anything. The floor was normal wooden floor and he owned one bed, a drawer and a desk. That was pretty much it except the guitar that was placed agains the wall and a few posters of bands hanging on the walls. We sat on his bed, he had by now grabbed his guitar and it rested in his lap. His hands were placed on the strings and he was just waiting for me to start singing.
"I can't do it." I said, "Not if you're looking at me."
"But I have to look at you, and don't worry you look pretty." he said.
I rolled my eyes. "No I really can't."
This time he rolled his eyes. "Just do it, okay? You've done it before."
I sighed at him. "Okay. Stop pushing me."
We both straightened our back and I nodded at him. He started playing the cords. "Begin when you're ready." he whispered, like he was gonna scare me if he spoke any louder.
