Headline: Mr Lee Pulls Out of Court Case
I chuckle as I read the headline. Mr Lee proved Jungkook right.
"What happened?" Mira asks curiously as we pull into the company's parking lot. We had just finished our dinner when I told Mira I needed to head back to the office.
"They pulled out of the case," I say smugly as I rest against the seat.
"Wimps," she cackles and raises a fist which I wholeheartedly fist bump. My heart is thrumming quickly and I could hug the daylights out of Jungkook. We quickly exit the car and make our way upstairs since it's already 11pm and we both desperately wanted to get home and sleep.
"So why're we here?" Mira yawns as the elevator reaches my office's level.
"Jungkook's holding a charity event tomorrow. I'm here for the invitation card," I reply. I can feel Mira's eyes pop out of their sockets.
"Kim! We could've just collected it tomorrow morning then! Why'd you have to drag me all this way when we could've done this tomorrow?" she whines as we walk towards my office. I rub at my tired eyes.
"I want to see what the invitation looks like," I offer the weakest excuse. She groans louder at that. I fumble to unlock the door and we stumble inside. Mira struggles to not lay on my sofa and I pick up the envelope on the table - some employee must've delivered it.
I get to opening it and out comes a card and a teabag. I inspect the card, not actually reading the details but rather admiring its design. At the back of it is a neon Post-it, a sharp contrast to the fancy lettering on the card.
"I told you so," I read out the Post-it which has Jungkook's flowering writing on it.
"The cocky bastard knew Mr Lee would get out of the deal," my grin widens as I shake my head. Putting the contents all back into the envelope, I turn to Mira who looks like she's about to fall to the ground because of fatigue.
"Yes, yes, Lord praise our saviour, Jungkook. Can we go now?" she rubs at her eyes and I nod in amusement.
As we walk out of my office, I pull up Jungkook's chat.
Me: does everyone get a teabag?
Jeon Jungkook: nope, just one for my fav ceo <333
Me: grOSS
Jeon Jungkook: HAHA but really tho- youre in my contacts as fav ceo ;)
Me: with or without the wink
Jeon Jungkook: wouldnt you like to know
Me: ahem. weLL, now Mira hates me for dragging her back to the office for this
Jeon Jungkook: if she kicks you out, you can come stay at my place ;)))
Me: firstly, ew. secondly, how'd you know we live together?
Jeon Jungkook: read in an article that yall met in high school and usual best friend shit went down and now yall live tgt
Me: why do the articles you read all centre around me? are you perhaps some secret fan of mine?
Jeon Jungkook: dont flatter yourself
"Get off your phone, lovebird!" Mira's voice jerks me out of my thoughts and I roll my eyes as we enter our car. I spent the whole trip down to our car texting Jungkook - Mira knew that.
"So, usual shopping for the charity event?" Mira clears her throat. I grin knowingly.
"You bet," my beam widens as I start skimming through some songs to play as Mira safely gets us home. We have had the tradition of treating ourselves to new things every time an event rolled around and those shopping trips were and always will be the best.

The sun is shining through my window in such a way that it hits me right in the eyes when I open them. I instantly pull my duvet over my head as my hands roam around my the pillow my head rests on for my phone. Mira says it's a bad idea to charge my phone on the bed - I call bullshit despite the many articles proving her right.
As I rub my eyes and start my daily routine of scrolling through my phone, I hear Mira's voice. I frown a little and I lower the phone from my eyes as I listen intently.
"Have you told her that you'd be here?" her voice echoes in our very-empty penthouse.
"Does that mean she'll kill me if she sees me?" a forced laugh follows that question. My eyes shoot open.
What in the hell? Jungkook? The stalker got our address?
I am about to have a full-blown freak-out under the duvet when I hear footsteps approach my room.
Mira, that had better be you and you alone.
I practically throw my phone under my pillow and pretend to sleep as my door opens. My back is faced towards it as I hear it click shut.
"Psst! Hana!" Mira's hissing at me but I still won't budge. Who knew if Jungkook were with her in my room too?
"I know you're awake, pabo! Just look at me! Jungkook's in our living room!" Mira is practically shrieking so I flip over and slap a hand over her mouth. I squeeze my eyes shut in disbelief.
"How did he find our address? Is this a valid reason to call the police for trespassing?" I grit through my teeth in irritation. I like being in control and knowing my plan for the day - I hate surprises. Or maybe I just hate the fact that he showed up unannounced. Mira yanks my hand away from her mouth as she dramatically gasps for air.
"Don't kill me but at like one in the morning, he texted me saying he wanted to take you out for lunch? Or something? Frankly, I don't remember! It was bloody one! So I gave him our address but I didn't think he'd show up at nine in the bloody morning!" Mira's words tumble out of her mouth.
"You absolute dumbass! He could have a weapon for all we know! He could have been sent to murder us - and you just gave our address away!" I groan in disbelief.
"He wants to take you out on a date! Not literally take you out like knock you over the head!" Mira tries to defend herself.
"Mira!" I laugh in exasperation, "We are friends! Why would you try to set me up?" I scold her. She shrugs. The audacity. I massage my temples and I release Mira from my death glare.
"You're going to tell him that I've just woken up and that I'll take an hour to get out of my room," I stare at her grimly. She doesn't argue. Nodding, she quickly gets up and leaves. I can already feel the headache.
Screw me.
Sighing, I drag myself to my closet to look for clothes. What does one wear when their business partner shows up unannounced at their house since their secretary messed up big time?
I settle on a simple summer dress and wedges. Peeking out of my door, Jungkook is not in sight. Sighing in relief, I zoom over to the bathroom.

I pad out into the living room, hair wet and cheeks red from the warm shower.
"Mira! Where's my hair-"
I am cut off when I meet Jungkook's gaze. I instantly slap myself on the head.
I forgot he was here.
The bastard only takes in how frazzled I look, leans back on my couch and smirks. He is in a loose button-up shirt and simple torn jeans.
"An hour to get out of bed?" he teases with a raised brow. I puff my cheeks up in annoyance.
"Well- it's usually longer but you're here so-"
"Uh huh," he drawls cheekily.
"Why are you here?" I question and he pouts, pretending to be deep in thought.
"I missed you dearly and as your closest friend-"
Before he can finish his sentence, I've already walked over to the couch and thrown a throw pillow on him.
"Yah! That one had a button on it!" he whines as he cradles his head. I hold the pillow up to his eyes as I tower over him - at least I'd like to think that I appeared towering and intimidating.
"You have 10 seconds," I challenge.
