Chapter 24

~TAEHYUNG POV~

I'm a little nervous to be honest in speaking with my dad about an earlier take over to my dads position as alpha but I think it needs to be done really. I believe it would be what's best for everyone and hopefully no death comes even if I do know there is no stopping it. I just want to try and do something, change something like fate in hopes that maybe things will change.

I mean by doing this and my dad agrees it would mean I would have to finish school early but I'm willing to do what I believe needs to be done and that is by mating with my mate and proceeding to take my dads places as alpha in the pack.

Y/n was currently with Jisoo in her bedroom talking about girl stuff since I refuse to spend any time away from Y/n at the moment. I want her with me every second of every day, I just want to keep her safe because for all I know she could be the one that is due to die, you never know what fate has in store for anyone.

But here I am now. Standing in front of my dads office doors waiting for the right moment to knock and enter so I could speak to him. It's just the longer I stayed put with my feet rooted to the floor the more nervous I became. That was until I heard my dads voice in the link.

"I know you're standing outside my office Taehyung. You can just come in unless you changed your mind?" Dad

I sighed to myself and pushed down the handle that I had a hold of for god knows how long and stepped inside the room and closing it behind me.

"What do you have in mind to speak to me about Tae?" Dad

I turned around to face my dad from the door and took a couple steps inside to take a seat in front of his desk. He calmly looks at me with a light smile on his face and places both hands on his desk crossing is fingers together.

"I know you want to ask something of me. I'm your father I know when your anxious about something and it's been on your mind for days." Dad

I nod to look down at my fingers, fidgeting with nerves.

"Yes I do."

"Would you like to discuss it with me? Is it about you and y/n? About what we told you the other day?" Dad

I shrugged a little bit and looked up from my lap to my dads calming facial expression.

"Kind of. It's important though."

My dad nods firmly as if I had gained his attention and simply stares back at me.

"Okay then. Shoot." Dad

I gulped are first and tried to think of what I could say first until I finally brought up the courage to say it out loud to my dad.

"I want to take over your position earlier than planned if that's okay with you?"

My dads lit up in surprise and he sits back and cocks his head to the side in thought and to stare off to the corner of the room. His face turned serious for a moment making me internally panic that maybe I shouldn't ask of this but then he sighs and turns back to look at me waiting his response in anticipation.

"This is about what we told you isn't it? Because it won't change anything if that's what you're hoping." Dad

No it was my turn to sigh and look down at my hands on my lap.

"You never know it might but asking this of you dad I've never been so sure of anything before other than how I feel about y/n."

My dad only hums in response and again I look up at him.

"Speaking of y/n does she know of what you're asking of me? Since by all traditions she would be involved in this aswell." Dad

"Yes she knows. I asked her first and she basically told me she was okay with it. Same thoughts as you about how this wouldn't change anything but I still think it would be a good idea."

I stare into my dads eyes with so much certainty. I was desperate to do this ever since the thought came to my mind.

"So she knows that you would have to mate with her right?" Dad

"Yes she does. It's earlier than planned but I'm still stuck on the idea."

Again my dad hums and wipes over a finger on his lips to stare across the room again in deep thought. At this point I don't know if he'll say yes or no. It means an earlier retirement for him but I'm more than willing to do this.

Several moments went by and my dad didn't move at all while I sat there in silence also in wonder to what he's going to say. It's a big decision so for him to take his time is understandable I guess.

"Okay. Fine." Dad

Huh?

"I'm sorry but what?"

I questioned him and he smiles to now look at me and cross his arms over his chest.

"I agree with what you propose. You can take my place earlier than planned. It's only a couple months short so it's no big deal and I believe that you'll do just fine in taking my place. There should be no problem." Dad

I couldn't believe it. He actually said yes!

"You're really agreeing to this? You're not joking right?"

My dad laughs and throw his head back as he does and I couldn't help but also to crack a smile.

"Yes I'm agreeing to it and no I'm not joking. I think it'll be perfectly fine. I'll speak with your mother about this and I'll start with arrangements but that means you need to ask y/n something very important Taehyung. This is no joke it's like you're asking her to marry you and in our world it is marriage." Dad

I was starting to feel all giddy within myself. Y/n not only as my mate but wife too. It has a nice ring to it. I like it, no I love it.

"Yes I know. I have the perfect plan to how I'll ask her but I think I'll need Jisoos help though."

He chuckles and nods at the same time, uncrossing his arms as he does so.

"I'm sure you will but for not this stays between us an the family okay? I'll make an official announcement within the next week." Dad

That's fair enough.

I only nod and stand back up and rest to leave the room but my dads voice stops me.

"I know you won't disappoint me son. You always have reason to your actions even if they sometimes come out wrong. Just remember that." Dad

Looking back at me dad I nod again in appreciation to his words, giving him a quick good bye and leaving the room in a rush. I have things to plan, things to arrange to make a special night for y/n to officially ask her to me mine and accept our bond between us.

I really can't wait for this. This is gonna be the best decision ever.
