interrupting his stream

living in a house full of twitch streamers had its perks and its chaos. one of the best parts? the little surprises that popped up when someone decided to crash another person's stream just for laughs. you never joined in on purpose, but you couldn't help laughing at the antics.

anyone could show up in a ridiculous costume, pop into a discord call, or hover unnervingly close to a mic at any moment. today, for example, fitz had announced he was going live and texted the group chat: "do not bother me." mostly aimed at the others, of course. you smiled, knowing you'd still end up in the middle of it somehow.

fitz often asked you to bring him snacks mid-stream. you'd sneak in quietly with a plate, sometimes waving or whispering a quick "hi," which inevitably got caught on camera. but today, it was relatively calm, only you, fitz, and a jet-lagged swagger were home.

you settled into the living room, watching fitz on the tv while scrolling through twitter. minutes ticked by, and your timeline somehow became entirely food posts. cookies sounded perfect. you preheated the oven and started baking, only to be interrupted by a package from your online shopping haul. cookies and new clothes? today was already winning.

with five minutes left on the timer, you dashed upstairs to try on one of your new pieces. normally, you lounged around in whatever was comfortable, but this dress... it felt like a small rebellion against your usual cozy wardrobe. brushing your hair, slipping on socks, and staring in the mirror, you felt a mix of pride and nerves. it fit beautifully. it looked good. you might even leave it in your closet just to look at it.

the oven timer beeped, jolting you out of your thoughts. panicked, you ran downstairs to grab the cookies. just then, your phone buzzed: a text from fitz. "did you make something?"

you glanced at the tv and saw him set his phone down, still sneaking peeks at your messages. smiling, you replied: "cookies. bringing you some."

as you grabbed a plate, a donation popped up on his stream: "are you texting y/n?" fitz froze.

"i—what? how would you guys know that?" he stammered, glancing at the chat, then pushing his phone aside. another donation: "please tell y/n i said hi!" his nerves skyrocketed.

you decided to have a little fun. a donation from you appeared seconds later: "hi, dad." fitz exhaled, half-smiling, as the chat exploded with playful comments calling you the "mom and dad of the group" and teasing fitz for getting shy.

"please bring me my cookies, woman," he said, leaning toward the mic. you grabbed the plate and knocked on his door.

"cookies!" you announced, stepping in. before you could hand it over, fitz grabbed your hand and pulled you toward him, dangerously close to the camera.

"do you realize what you're wearing?" he asked, eyes glinting. embarrassed, you tried to back away but he wouldn't let go.

"please let us see y/n," a donation read.

fitz smirked, signaling for you to come on screen. "i'm shy..." you whispered.

"why?" he asked. you pointed to the dress. he shook his head and tugged you closer. "guys, look at how good y/n looks!" the chat flooded with compliments.

a $100 donation appeared: "cam, how much do i have to pay to take y/n on a date?"

"i'll take her out for free," he said with a grin. you laughed and sat on his lap, already feeling at home.

you spent the next half hour watching videos, reacting, laughing, and teasing with fitz and his chat.

"i should go—I don't want to take over your stream," you said, stretching as you stood. before fitz could respond, another donation popped up: "kiss." you both laughed. since you were already dating, though the fans didn't know yet, he covered the camera, pulled you in for a quick kiss, then uncovered it with a playful smirk. "now you'll never know if we kissed or not."

the chat went wild, fitz was flustered, and you... just felt warm, cozy, and perfectly at home.
