Chapter 19

As soon as consciousness hits me, I quickly held my stomach and I was glad I felt my baby bump which means that my baby is okay. Xavier saved her.

"You're awake."

Napatingin ako sa gilid ko and I was stopped for a sec because of Xavier and I's small distance. He's sitting beside me which made our faces only inches away which is not good because I can see the visible worry in his eyes that is making my heart jump happily.

"What happened to me? Is the baby okay?" Tanong ko sabay iwas ng tingin dahil baka hindi ko mapigilan ang sarili ko at halikan sya.

I held my baby bump and slightly caressed it, hoping my baby can feel that I am ready to protect her no matter what because I love her more than my life.

"The doctor said that was just normal--"

"Normal?!" Hindi ko napigilan ang sarili kong pagtaasan sya ng boses na ikinagulat nya pero agad rin iyong napalitan ng pagka-seryoso.

"You're in your fourth month that's why there are changes in your body." Mahinahon nyang sabi bago sya tumayo. "Your blood flow is increasing which is why you will experience bleeding gums or nose. That is also the reason why you fainted but despite all of that, the baby is fine and healthy." He added before he adjusted the bed to make me sit.

"I expected to hear that from the doctor." Biro ko bago kinuha ang baso ng tubig.

"I know you're worried that's why I already told you. If you worry too much the baby will be affected, remember?" He said in a calm voice before took the glass from me.

Napa-ngiti naman ako bago sya tinanguan tapos ay hinawakan ko ang tyan ko.

He loves you and that's the most important thing right now. Sabi ko sa sarili ko.

"Your parents and Hugo went here a while ago." Sabi nya kaya liningon ko sya and I saw him peeling an apple.

"How about your Mom?"

"She left with them." Sagot nya bago binigay sa akin ang mansanas. "They got along, don't worry." Dagdag pa nya kaya tumango na lang ako.

The doctor and a nurse came in and checked my vitals then she told me what Xavier told me kaya mas napanatag ang loob ko knowing that my baby is okay. Dibale nang mahirapan ako basta okay lang sya palagi.

"It's already late. Why are you not sleeping?" Tanong ko nang maalimpungatan ako.

I saw him sitting on a couch with a laptop in his lap and papers around him. He glanced at me before he put the laptop down and walked towards me.

"Ikaw ang dapat matulog." Seryoso nyang sabi.

"I am already rested and the baby is hungry." Mahina kong sagot.

"What does she want to eat?" There's a hint of softness in his voice that made my heart melt.

"The circular bread that has fine sugar and grated cheese above it. I don't know what it's called but our maids are always eating that."

"Ensaymada, Danae."

"I want three of that and soya milk."

"Okay. Anything else?"

"None. Thank you."

He just nodded before he went out. It didn't took him long and went back immediately with a plastic bag in his hand. He turned on the lights before he adjusted my bed then put the bed table above my lap.

"Eat." Sabi nya nang matapos ilagay ang mga pagkain sa bed table.

Bumalik na sya sa sofa and made himself busy by looking at the papers while I silently ate. Nang matapos na ako ay ganon pa rin ang ginagawa nya at base sa sobrang pagka-kunot ng noo nya ay namomoblema sya.
