Chapter 34

"You're early." Xavier said when he saw me in the kitchen, cooking a pasta dish.

Hindi ko sya liningon and just continued mixing the pasta. I don't even know what kind of bad spirit entered my body which pushed me to cook.

I felt his presence behind me which made me stiffed so I slightly cleared my throat and went to the fridge kahit hindi naman kailangan. Tumatayo kasi lahat ng balahibo sa katawan ko, especially whenever I remember his surprises which not only give me goosebumps but makes my heart go rogue as well.

"Cook your own food kung ayaw mo ng pasta." Sabi ko nang ilagay ko na sa plato ang linuto ko.

From the smell of the herbs, I think masarap naman ito. I hope.

Napa-pikit ako nang humarap ako dahil tanging ang plato lang nag-hihiwalay sa amin. He's too close and intently looking at me so sinong hindi magugulat?

"What, Xavier?" I impatiently asked because he didn't move and just kept looking at me as if I know where the aliens live.

"Save your number on my phone." He said in a soft tone while seriously looking at me kaya tinaasan ko sya ng kilay bago linagpasan.

Pumunta ako sa dining table at linapag ang plato tapos ay hinarap ko ulit sya na medyo lumayo na sa akin pero kahit ganon ay mabilis pa rin ang tibok ng puso ko.

"You already have my number." I said in a 'duh' tone then I crossed my arms.

Naglakad naman sya palapit sa akin kaya pa-simple akong napa-lunok. He is starting to regain his old masculine self but there's still a sign of stress and weariness in his face pero hindi ito nababawasan ang gandang lalaki nya.

My eyes slightly went wide because of my thoughts then they focused in Xavier who is already standing a feet away from me.

He smiled at me before he took out a phone from his suit inner pocket. Inalok nya sa akin ito pero kunot-noo ko lang itong tinignan.

This is the latest phone dahil kaka-bili ko pa lang nito last week. From my last memory, Xavier's phone is an Iphone 6 so I think he upgraded after so many years.

"What made you buy a new phone?" Tanong ko kasabay nang pag-kuha ko nito para i-save ang number ko.

When I opened it, I was surprised to see my face in the home screen wallpaper. It was a photo shot in candid and I know I posted it in IG.

I looked at him unbelievably but he is just looking at me with a light face so my heart can't help but to beat faster and wilder.

I cleared my throat before I looked back at his phone.

"I'm starting a new life." Rinig kong sabi nya kaya binalik ko sa kanya ang tingin ko at seryoso lang syang naka-titig sa akin.

"Number mo lang ang isa-save ko dyan and all my other contacts will be directed to my EA." Dagdag pa nya kaya bahagya akong napa-nganga.

"So kapag gusto kang tawagan ng Mama mo ay ang EA mo ang kailangan nyang kontakin?" Hindi-makapaniwala kong sabi and he just nodded as if I just asked him if 1+1 is eqauls 2.

I closed my eyes before looking unbelievably at him but he just nodded at me, urging me to put my number in the phone.

I tried so hard not to drop the phone dahil nanginginig ang mga kamay ko dahil sa kilig. The wild rhythm of heart is reverberating my whole body.

Pagkatapos kong ilagay ang number ko ay ibinalik ko na sa kanya ang cellphone nya at blanko lang syang tinignan. Ayaw ko naman ipahalata na kinilig ako sa ginawa nya.
