Mary opened the door with the electronic key card and almost immediately scrunched her nose in disgust.

Ava pushed past her after a second of her standing still and silent. She immediately regretted it. "Oh my God, the must." Ava scrunched her whole face and reached up to lunch at her nose.

"Language," Camila and Beatrice both piped up. They flashed one another amused smiles before making their ways into the room. The smell hit them like a wall. It smelled like no one had been in there for several weeks, maybe even months.

Lilith walked over to an old AC unit in the wall. She ran a finger over the surface. She pulled it away and examined the thick layer of dust that coated her finger pad. "I say we dust up first thing. The smell will dissipate if we open a window and turn on the AC."

"Sounds good," Camila nodded. She walked over to the one window and began undoing the locks. She pushed it up and the frame released a god awful shriek that had everyone cringing in their tracks.

Ava found a pile of old clothes in the bathroom and was more disgusted than she had been before if that was even possible. Luckily, I didn't take long for the room to air out and the dust to be wiped away. Within an hour, the place was livable. Looking around the room, there were two twin beds, two lounge chairs, and a desk with a rolling chair. "Alrighty so only one of us gets a bed?"

Mary sighed. "We don't have enough money to get a bigger room, but you can go down to the front and grab blankets and pillows for the floor."

"Keep in mind we still have our sleeping bags." Camila gestured to the pile of camping supplies on one of the large chairs. "If you can find some decent priced clothes, let me know. I have a hole in the back of my shirt that is threatening to get bigger as we speak."

"And Lilith tore a hole in her ass," Mary joked. Lilith lifted a pillow from the bed and threw it at the offender with a playful smile.

Ava chuckled and grabbed the key card off the desk. "I'm going to need some help with the carrying."

Lilith set down her half eaten sugar wafer on a napkin and walked toward the door. "Wait," Ava started. "So Lilith gets a sugar wafer and I don't? What kinda bullshit is this?"

Mary shook with silent laughter as she opened the door and pushed Ava out. "You can have one when you get back. Now go get the blankets."

Lilith was pushed out behind Ava and Mary closed the door. Ava didn't know what to do in this situation. She hadn't spent much time alone with Lilith since her return from Hell and from the looks of it, Lilith didn't know what to do either.

"Hey," Lilith began, "I didn't mean what I said this morning. I was upset and I took it out on you."

Ava was stunned. "Uh, yeah no problem. Thanks." The two began their walk to the elevator that would take them downstairs and to the lobby they were just in not long ago. "Hey, I'm sorry about everything that happened. I didn't mean to mess up that bad. I was trying."

Lilith smiled a sad smile as she stepped into the elevator. "I know. You were stepping up to your responsibilities the best you could."

Ava pushed the button with a star on it and the doors closed before them. Ava's stomach nearly dropped out of her stomach just like before and she uncomfortably swayed and fell against the wall. "I hate this elevator."

Lilith snickered and helped her back up. "We need to work on your balance apparently."

Ava rolled her eyes. "And self awareness, and mindfulness, and body awareness, yata yata yata."

"Don't forget combat skills and manners," Lilith shot back.

The elevator came to a screeching stop and Ava's stomach hit the floor in shock. "Shit. I really hate this thing."
