"So that's easy then." Ava looked at the other Sisters waiting for reassurance. "Right?" She got none.
"Not exactly—" Beatrice began.
"But we just have to get Mother Superion out and then she'll know what to do." Ava watched Lilith's eyes roll at her statement. "What?" Ava glared. Beatrice glanced down in disappointment.
Lilith raised her brows. "I just wonder what life is like being the stupidest human being in this cathedral. No, likely the world." She shuffled her feet slightly, ignoring the ringing she could feel starting at the back of her mind. She knew she was being a bitch, but she didn't care. And that scared her.
"If you don't want me here, just tell me. I'll leave," Ava shot back, offering her harshest glare and feeling a twinge of satisfaction when she noticed a wince on the demoness' face. Lilith saw the flash of pleasure cross the Halo-
Camila raised her hands, pressing her palms outward. "Let's not loose our tempers. We're already short on numbers."
Lilith sighed. "We should've known better than to invite Mary." She looked around her at the disapproving and warning glances from her Sisters. "What? She's a flake. She's never cared to show up for training before. Why would she now?"
"Because we're dealing with the end of the world, Lilith. Mary does care," Beatrice answered, her voice bordering on confrontational.
"Then why isn't she here?" Lilith crossed her arms and leaned back against her door, concealing her wince as the ringing grew louder. She struggled to hear the words spoke to her.
Camila stood from her spot on the foot of Lilith's bed. "Let's get back on topic. In response to Ava's statement, the jail that Mother Superion is in isn't like a normal jail. It's the jail of Vatican City, kept under heavy lock and key and defended by the Swiss guard and the elected cardinals of the King of Vatican City."
"Aka Durretti," Lilith added, fidgeting with her left sleeve.
Camila glanced to the demoness once more, trying to conceal the worry she was feeling for the girl. Lilith never fidgeted. And she usually wasn't such a bitch. "Yes, Durretti." She let her gaze stick to Lilith for a second later before looking back to Ava. "This isn't like breaking into ArqTech. Yes, ArqTech has impressive security, but nothing compared to the catacombs of the Vatican."
She watched Beatrice avoid Ava's questioning gaze that was always directed her way when church matters came up. She didn't know what had happened, but she knew they had to fix it soon. They couldn't let this interfere with their plans.
After a moment of silence passed and it was clear that the first part of their meeting had concluded, Lilith finally took a seat on the floor. "So are we going to come up with a plan or just sit here?"
Beatrice looked up from her lap and looked across the floor at Lilith who was now sitting in front of her. "Okay." She sighed. "Camila, what do you know about the layout and cameras in the catacombs surrounding the prison?"

A faint glow radiated from the center of the mostly vacant crypt. Vincent sat on the dust covered floors with his back against one of the four stone pillars holding up the ceiling of the underground burial sight. He fought to keep his gaze from drifting to the sealed casket that lay against the wall on the other side of the room.
