Trip To Venezuela

It was the longest plane ride of my entire life.

It took almost an entire day to finally reach the Santa Elena de Uaiŕen Airport in Venezuela. And by the time I had found a motel to spend the night in, I was utterly and wholly exhausted.

Closing the door behind me, I leaned against it and sighed. It was night time here, and though I had slept on the flight, I was still lethargic.

"Hey, Willow. You can get out now." I let out with a yawn, walking towards the bed and dumping my bag on it.

"That had to be the longest I've ever had to be so close to you." The annoyed voice of the Will-o'-Wisp had me scoffing.

"Whatever. I'm just gonna sleep."

"No."

I paused in my tracks. "Excuse me?"

"We should leave now. It'll save us a lot of time."

"Are you kidding me?" I asked incredulously.
"Its night, I doubt I'd get a ride at this time. Plus, we can't just waltz up there without a tour guide! I don't think we're even allowed to."

"It would be smart if we go out alone rather than with other humans." He spoke calmly.

"And how do you propose we do that? Fly?" I asked, sarcasm dripping in my voice.

"How good are you with controlling your powers?"

I frowned at the unexpected question, but also at the memories it brought.
"I...I don't know." I replied honestly.

"What do you mean?" Willow drifted over a few feet closer.

Biting my lip in contemplation, I began.
"Well, there's this thing that happened..." I trailed off, wondering whether or not to tell him about what had happened a few months ago.

"What is it Aylin?" He enquired impatiently.

Oh, well then.

"You know about the alien invasion that happened in New York a while ago?" He nodded.
"Well, I may or may not have fought against them using my powers." I mumbled.

Willow stood still in the air. "And?"

"And um, I was kind of injured at a point and hiding behind a barrier, while the aliens were shooting at me. I don't know how but somehow I think I created a..uh hole?" I spoke, uncertainty evident in my tone as I tried to recall the event.

"I just hit my fist and this crack spread out and just widened underneath them and they fell in." I furrowed my eyebrows, still not understanding how that had happened without me willing it to.

Willow stayed silent for a moment, just hovering before me. "You were in danger."

Confused, I nodded even though it wasn't a question.

"The stone was protecting you."
My frown deepened and seeing this, he explained. "You are a host for the stone, that is a vessel for these powers. In order to protect itself, it had to protect you."

"So you mean that the stone can control my powers?" I asked, horrified.

"It's not that simple." He shook his head. "As long as you have the abilities, they will threaten to overtake you, consume you. But the stone prevents that from happening, as long as you allow it to."

"I don't understand..." I bit my lip, trying to make sense of his words.

"You've allowed the stone to be a catalyst when you accepted the powers from Lady Terra. And they bend to your will. But in the case that you're too shaken to do so, the stone takes over temporarily and expels the powers until the immediate danger is eliminated and you can regain control."
