My arms shook with the exertion of keeping my body straight as I let out short, trembling gasps, feeling my core burn. A second later, I dropped on the floor with a painful groan.
"Wow... you're worse than I thought."
I flopped to the side, glaring at the red-head. "I told you I couldn't do it."
"Clearly." Natasha hummed, stretching out a hand for me to take.
Now, you might be wondering how I got into this situation... how in the name of all holy things was I actually exercising? Well, allow me to enlighten you.
It all started that one fine evening.
.
I had walked into the kitchen, stomach grumbling with the need to feast and upon entering, I was met with the sight of two men locked in battle.
Clint and Tony, faces drawn with tension as they attempted to beat the other in the extremely serious looking arm wrestling contest they'd found themselves in. Steve and Natasha watched from the sidelines with tiny smiles on their faces while Thor rambunctiously cheered them on."Oh Tinny, don't stress too much." I had called out, making my way to the fridge. "Your arm might break."
Perking up at the sight of flavored yogurt, I pulled one out and sat on the counter, watching them.
Natasha smirked. "Clint, you're turning red."
The archer huffed and with a determined shove, pushed his arm down, joining in with Thor's cheer while the other groaned.
"Don't be so overjoyed." He crossed his arms. "I was going easy on you."
"Pfft- loser."
Tony glared at me as I snickered. "Why don't you go the next round, kid?"
"What? With you?" I laughed.
"No, that would be awfully unfair. Go with our happy-go-lucky lady agent here."
He gestured to Natasha who rolled her eyes, a trace of a smile present on her face. "I could beat you easily, Stark."
"You want me to go up against who is quite possibly the strongest avenger?" I asked dubiously, eyes widened. "Uh-huh, like that will ever happen."
"Strongest?" Thor and Tony echoed.
"I believe that would be me."
"That's Hulk."
They looked at each other in surprise before Clint started laughing.
"I agree with Aylin." He said and Steve nodded.
"I'm flattered, boys." The woman in question sighed. "But are we doing this?"
As she turned to me, I had swiftly lowered my head, shoving in a mouthful of yogurt and shaking my head.
"I'm busy."
She rolled her eyes again, grabbing my arm. "Sit down."
"But-"
"Yeah, sit down, Aylin."
Tony had pushed down on my shoulders lightly and I dropped in the seat Clint was previously on, with my now opponent across from me.
She rolled up the sleeve of her hoodie and I reluctantly followed suit.
"Just so you know," I narrowed my eyes at Tony, "if my arm gets dislocated, I'm telling Pepper it was you."
The billionaire gaped. "What? Why me?"
"Cause you were the one with the idea."
Before he could protest, Natasha had clasped my palm and I gulped, silently praying for the well-being of my limb.
