CHAPTER8: WINGS TO FLY

And after a few minutes later, Chris and I were dressed up in skin tight leather pants, with white long sleeved top and black boots. Peter and I Theo wore pair of black pants and red and olive green t-shirt respectively.

We walked to the entrance and to our astonishment, we saw five horses with wings and each of our names carved in its strap were standing before us.

"You look good." Drake said coming over to me.

"Geez Thanks again. You are quite straight forward, aren't ya?" I said chuckling. Little did I know that Christina was standing right behind me.

"And here are your badges that will guide you to through the journey. Don't mistake it for a simple badge." Drake said handing us each one.

Eagerly we pinned it to our dress. It was a golden phoenix badge with our name engraved on it.

"It's just a mere badge with our names on it, how will it guide us?" Peter said looking at the badge in a peculiar way.

"Oops, I forgot to say you the important part of it." Drake said smiling at us.

Then he moved close to Peter and pushed a teeny tiny little button that was on his badge. Before you can say the word 'magic' Peter disappeared into thin air.

"Wait, where did he go?"I said waving my hands in air.

"The badge is sort of like telegramming device. Instead of telegramming letters it is designed to transport a person from one place to another." Drake said winking at all our confused faces. "You just have to think of the place you want to go and click it, and voila. But it only works for you to go to the Ravenstark building and not anywhere else." He smiled explaining.

"So, now where did you send Peter?" Christina asked.

"I thought of the RavenStark, but he unfortunately has to miss a bit of adventure."He said grinning.

"Adventure?" I asked. But he just smiled and went up to the horses.

"Come on now, saddle up. On the first day, you must enjoy the skies a bit." He said climbing on one of the horses. Theo Chris and I saw each other's faces and grinned with excitement and went towards the horses.

A little while later, we were riding on top of the clouds. The vista underneath us was bewitching. Looks like it wasn't any ordinary horse it was a Pegasus; with a single touch from Drake it sprouted wings and stood like an absolute beauty.

The sky looked so pleasant from up above. Birds flew past us, we flew through the clouds, and it was like a dream, only it was real. For a moment all my problems flew out the window, I only could concentrate on the scenery that lay before me, it was breathtaking. I was so lost in panorama of the view that I forgot to hold on to my horse tighter.

"Whoa" I was just about to fall when.

"Got you!" Drake came to my rescue steadying myself to my horse.

"Oh, thank goodness. I owe you one." I said taking a heavy breath.

"I will keep that in mind." he smiled. Not good at riding horses?" Drake asked.

Just before I could answer a voice came from behind. "Drake, do not underestimate her. She is one of the best horse riding girls in our school." Theo said.

"Yep, no one has ever beaten the score that Liz scored at the polo game." Chris said backing up Theo.

"Oh, cool. I should play with you sometimes then." Drake said smiling at me.

"Now first, let's see if you can catch up then." I said speeding through the clouds.

"One day I will." Drake said as he sped me.

"Is it just me or Is Drake kind of crushing on Liz?" Chris said in an interrogative way.

"What are you saying? They just met this morning. I am sure they're not even friends...are they?" Theo said replying instinctively.

"Yeah, maybe, Anyways, why do you have to be so insecure? You and Lizzy are on good terms, right?" Chris said looking at Theo.

"Yeah you are right. We have moved past it."

"Are you sure, you have gotten over it? Don't get me wrong but I have seen the way you look at her, it's the same way you looked at her before." Chris asked looking straight at Theo.

"Don't worry Chris I am perfectly fine." Theo said turning his eyes away from Christina's.

"Ok then, now cheers up bud. We have a long journey to go." Chris said speeding through at front.
