CHAPTER 23:CASTLE

It felt empty after Peter and Theo left. It wasn't a good bye and I had faith that I will see them sooner or later but just right now they don't have to be here. Ethan took them to Olisen for their departure. It was just Christina and me until Katherine came knocking.

"If you are done would you like to follow me? I will be showing you around." She said with an innocent smile.

"Sure but I have already looked around and I have something to say to Olisen." I replied

"Oh! But you haven't seen everything right? This place is huge and trust me it is filled with wonders. Once Olisen comes back after leaving your friends I will take you to him." Katherine rushed us out of the room.

"So where do we begin?" Christina said looking at the gargantuan and immaculate castle. It never ceases to wonder me.

"Let's start from the beginning, shall we?" Katherine walked forward. We were right on her tail.

"So." She began. "This is the main building. And also one of the important places of Ezra. This is the place where everything's done, from taking decisions to infirmary to training sections in constitutes each and everything." Katherine said walking around the vast place. It was outstanding. The structural designs were really sort after, it had long pathways and passages to god knows where. Chris and I had our mouths open the whole time.

"And this..." Katherine said entering a pathway in the left. "...is the infirmary, lab and all the science-y things related to both human and wizard biology."

"Wizard biology?" Chris asked confused.

"Yes, not every wizard has the same traits of a human one. Some are wired differently, for example Ethan and Elizabeth over here." She pointed out.

"So there are more? Like me?" I asked intrigued.

"No it's just you and Ethan." Katherine said defensive. Odd.

"This all looks advanced." Christina said looking around the lab. Everything in here was high tech and extremely up to date. People were hurrying here and there just like the time when Peter and I were looking around. Everyone in here were like busy bees.

"So what do they do in here?" I asked.

"Infirmary is one of the most important parts of Ezra." Katherine said walking inside the lab and we two right behind here. "Though witches and wizards can create anything and everything with the power of magic we still are only limited to do certain things. For instance, we can't heal wounds with magic it needs to be treated the same orderly way they treat in your world and it neither was possible to create life until 20 years ago." She said facing me.

"And who manages all these?" I asked changing the subject.

"Wynston Kramborg was the last successor so after his fall Olisen didn't want to take up his place, so he decided that he won't rule Ezra but be it's adviser and gave up his position to Resilius Viktor heir to one of the powerful families of Ezra. Though none of them liked the verdict it was Olisen's so we had to oblige." Katherine said with aversion in her voice.

"Why did Olisen not take up the position." Christina asked

"No one knows." She said pressing her mouth taut. "He said he did not deserve such position and gave it up, according to my mum and dad this was what happened but none knows the real reason."

"Oh!" I said. Why did he give it up? I thought.

"Let's move onto the next section. Come on." Katherine said heading for the exit.

The infirmary was small compared to where we were going next. The armory. It was a magnificent room with weapons around every corner. It was a soldier's dreamland.
