"You will be leaving tomorrow morning and the necessary things for your departure will be taken care you don't need to worry about it." Olisen told Theo and Peter.
"Yeah as if that was our biggest worry!" Peter was displeased and it was written all over his place.
Theo barged out of the room, when he opened the door he bumped Ethan on the way.
Ethan was just outside the room! Did he hear about my decision about the transformation? Was he happy with the decision I made? I thought until I got distracted by Peter. He was fuming and I had to calm him down somehow before he does something bad. I signaled Christina to go after and so she went. Olisen went to talk to Ethan, though I wanted to hear their conversation I wanted ta talk to Peter.
I went up to Peter and gave him a smile. He turned his glance away from me and anger showed all over him.
"Talk to me Pete." I begged. He did not listen. "I am sorry."
"Sorry?" He turned back forceful. "Sorry for what Liz? For taking a goddamn stupid decision? For doing things you are not supposed to do? For letting Chris stay but not me and Theo? For going through with the transformation? You have a lot of things to be sorry for!"
"I am...I am sorry for all of that. I really am, but it is the right thing to do Pete. These people need me and I have a feeling that they would protect me if ever things go south." I elucidated.
"How can you be sure Liz?" This time he wasn't angry he was worried. "Listen to me okay, let's go back and figure it on our own."
"How will you do that Pete? Will you able to control an all powerful dark witch? I don't think so!" I shook my head in disapproval.
"I can't leave you alone either. How can you ask me to do that?" His vexation returned.
"I am not alone Chris is with me and trust me Pete I am going to be perfectly fine. You have to go." I held both his hands and adjured. "Please, for my sake."
He did not speak anything in return he just looked at the hard floor.
"Remember? When we were kids we wanted to have supernatural powers so badly that we would even try controlling things with our minds and always end up with the thought maybe we aren't good enough." I jogged his memory. An imperceptible smile moved across his face. "And you would say 'Even if I am not worthy to have powers Liz you do.' I asked you why and for that you replied 'Because I have never seen someone who is mentally strong as much as you are.' And I never believed you."
"It's because you never believed yourself." He said still looking at the floor.
"Yes, Pete. I never believed myself while you have always believed in me. All these years by your side you taught me how to stay positive, happy and the skill of letting go certain things. You said I was strong while I was breaking down, you said I could handle pressure in ways no one could, we trusted each other with every single things in our life and that's why....that's why I need you trust me one last time! Believe in the girl whom you gave the title of the strongest girl you have known in ninth grade, believe in the girl whom you considered your own sister. Believe in me Pete, please." I stooped down to grab his attention from the floor. He again avoided my glimpse.
"I believe you Liz!" He finally spoke muffled. "That maybe the heedless thing I have done, but I can't help myself. You are one of the strongest people I know and you are one of the closest people I have. That maybe the reason why even when I know what you are doing is right I wasn't able to accept the facts." Peter said with his eyes closed. He became understandable and it was shocking as I have never seen this side of him. The Peter I knew had always taken things careless and reckless.
"I am so grateful for having a friend like you Pete." Those were the only words I managed to say. I knew it was hard for him to let me on my own in an unknown world and it would have been harder for me too if I was in his position. I smiled and he forced a smile back.
Chris and Theo came back to the room and it was evident that Theo would kidnap me from this place the next chance he gets. I wasn't in the mood to have another conversation explaining why I did what I did, so I just looked at Theo and nodded and he nodded back. Chris must have tried to brief him and make him understand.
Olisen came back after talking to Ethan and he was frustrated and worried. "I am extremely sorry to say this but I am afraid that you must leave now."
"No! What do you mean now?" Peter opposed.
"You are already kicking us out and you are not even giving us a day!" Theo joined.
"It's not like that dear." Olisen defended.
"Please explain sir." I said him.
"The truth is the arrival of the new comers were heavily opposed by the whole committee of Ezra but we had to bring Elizabeth back by any means necessary. So it was authorized only when I promised that you would return back as soon as possible." Olisen told with regret. "You have to leave at this moment." He said ruefully.
"You can't do this to them." I demurred.
"It isn't in my hands Elizabeth I tried." He drooped down.
"So that's it then. This is it." Peter threw his hands up in the air and gave a big sigh. Theo glared at me I wasn't able to do anything. The moment was getting worse, first I ask them to leave and now they have to leave right this second. They are never going to forgive me or forgive themselves when things get way worse.
"Is there really nothing you could do? Just for a day?" I went up to Olisen and asked.
"If I had a way I would have done it already." He said with no hope.
Then Theo suddenly moved beside me and said, "It's okay Elizabeth. I understand why you made this decision and even if it is a bitter medicine to swallow I have to if things need to get better." He understands?! All of a sudden out of all people Theo understands?! What the hell happened during the ten minutes he barged out of the room. I was completely shocked hearing this from him.
"Um...you do?" I asked back.
"Yes. You know why? Because, I know you and what you would do if you set your mind into something. Maybe what you feel right now is correct according to you and probably it really. So the only thing I could is trust you and whatever insane thing you are about to do." He smiled. I was speechless at his words so I just smiled back grateful.
"I will leave you four together for a minute." Olisen said and headed out. "You can come find me when you are done.
"So...." Christina started. "Until next time!"
We stood there in silence, soaking up in all the things we went through all these years. It was one hell of a rollercoaster for the last days and I was glad that I had them with me. I would miss them but I also know that they would only get twisted in this chaos and it isn't safe for them in here. And that doesn't mean I want Chris to get into this mess but maybe this was the only way for her to escape from her uncle and aunt. And I might need someone that Knows me in and out when I literally turn into a ball of fire.
"Until next time!" I said with a smile looking at their face obliged.
