We were walking up and down in almost all the shops in the city, but Chris still could not find her perfectly - perfect gift for Lixy. On the other hand Peter bought the first thing he laid his eyes on, it's has always been easy for him to buy gifts.
Last year he brought me a toothbrush because he was shopping with his mother in the pharmacy and he suddenly remembered about me, so all he first saw is a toothbrush and he bought a dozen of them for my party.
"It's boring!" Peter moaned. But Chris still kept walking.
We walked for an hour maybe I wasn't sure because I didn't keep track of our time.
Peter and I stared at each like we were saying "It's never ending" through our sore eyes. Chris always gets the best presents for us. And she is never going to stop until she finds the perfect one. Like ever.
After walking and walking, by god's grace on us suddenly she stopped near a workshop. It was old, dusty and looked more vintage-y.
"I am going to take a look at this" said Christina entering the shop.
"Ughh!"Peter and I moaned. "Chris we do adore your presents so much, but your patience just kills us" I groaned as I followed her into the shop.
"You guys carry on with your quest for the perfect gift I would wait for you in the pizza shop nearby" said Peter escaping his way out. I quickly grabbed his collar by the edge "No no, you are not going to leave me to rot in this hell alone" I said as I pulled him back inside.
The inside of the shop looked dusty like it has been closed for ages. There was nobody in there expect for a few dozen insects. Oh, why did she have to come here?!
"What kind of person would leave the store wide open in this broad day light?" I said looking around at this spooky place.
"Oh yeah! Like there is tons of gold in here waiting to be robbed!" said Peter laughing.
Chris rang the bell which was on a table nearby .It gave a creaking sound like we were in a haunted house.
"Chris this place gives me the creeps!" Peter said acting like he was scared.
Christina and I laughed at Peter. While a shadow showed from the top of the staircase.
"Look" she said pointing towards it. An old man with circle glasses and a white semi-long beard with a pleasant smile in a majestically big cloak, walked down the staircase. "Welcome! My dears to Olisen's workshop. My name is Olisen Stanfield." he said as he walked down from the staircase.
"Hello Mr.Stanfeild it's nice to meet you, I am Elizabeth" I said. "Do you happen to sell any gifts here?"
"We do sell gifts here my child. What kind are you expecting for?"
"A kind of gift you would give to a nineteen year old girl" said Peter.
"But we don't want a souvenir" Chris said."Do you have any kind of jewelery?"
"Mmm...we do indeed. Are you looking for vintage or a modern type?"
"We would go with vintage" Chris said.
"Chris you sure you wanna buy a vintage one. I mean wouldn't it be too old for Lixy?" asked Peter.
"I don't think so, vintage looks okay to me." I said. Christina nodded.
"Here we go" Mr.Stanfeild said as he pulled out a box made out if wood. A symbol of a flower like tiger lily was carved on the box; somehow that symbol looked familiar to me.
"This piece of art has been in here for centuries, passed onto generation from generation in my family. As me and my wife had no children I put this on for sale. Nobody wanted to buy this ring, said it was a piece of junk. Would you like to have a look at it?" he said as he handed over the wooden box to us.
