"Let's go." Nina whispered.
They quickly went out of the kitchen. The castle was precisely the same they saw earlier: bodies slaughtered, walls with blood splashed on it, the wedding flowers stamped on the floor. The celebration has become a funeral in no matter of time. Their home, their father's temple has now become a war zone.
All of a sudden, they heard some footsteps approaching , abruptly the three of them hid behind a huge tomb.
"It must be the attackers." Astroph said in a hushed voice.
"Brother, it looks like it's just a single person. Listen carefully, the footsteps are in sync." Lyra said with a serious concentration on hearing the footstep.
"And, it seems to stop every five seconds, like he/she is trying to move carefully without being heard." Nina agreed.
"Ly, go. We'll cover you." Astroph signaled his sister.
Lyra carefully, took her steps and moved towards the sound, she could see a piece of white clothing sticking out of another tomb; it was a silhouette of a man. It was like someone was hiding. Who? Why, to attack? Lyra asked herself.
She moved closer chanting a charm... Ignio pelatra...that made fire appear between her harms. As she moved closer she could see something shining on the finger. A wedding ring. She couldn't believe it.
"Wynston?" She asked to herself with hope, but still keeping the fire in her palms intact.
On hearing her, he moved, so did Astroph and Nina.
"Lyra?" He asked turning around. It was Wynston. It was her husband who was alive.
Unable to believe her eyes, Lyra swiftly ran up to him a leapt straight into his arms. There were tears of happiness coming down their cheeks.
"I am back. Why are you crying?" Wynston asked rubbing Lyra's hair.
"I am just... happy." Lyra smiled with her face on his chest.
"It's going to be okay now." Wynston said pulling her slowly away from him and kissed her forehead.
"Winnie!" a voice came. Nina.
"Sister." Wynston said and ran to hug her.
"Are you alright? Are you hurt? Did something happen to you? How did you escape? Astroph said bodies were scattered...." Nina asked concerned with tears in her eyes.
"Breathe, N." Wynston said smiling and looked at his sister calmly. "I am perfectly fine. There's no need to worry."
"We are just glad you are alright, Wynston." Astroph came forward hugging him too.
"Thanks mate."
Quickly they moved behind the tomb, before anyone could spot them.
"So, where were you? Why didn't you come to the secret passage?" Lyra asked anxiously.
"After, gathering all the people back to the place, we were again attacked. Some escaped including me, but some did not...." He said poignantly.
"Where are the others...who escaped along with you?" Nina asked.
"They are in the other side of the town; Brian took them there safe and sound." Wynston said relieved. Brian Mackenzie was Astroph's and Lyra's cousin, around the same age as Lyra.
"How is he? Is he alright?" Astroph asked.
"Yes, he is fine. Just a cut on the hands."
"There is an important thing for you all to know; she is back. Cyana is back." Wynston said with fear in his voice but with bravery in his eyes.
