CHAPTER 28:THE UNEXPECTED

There he was, standing in his usual upright manner glaring at the lot of us suspiciously. Ethan looked straight in his eyes whereas the others lowered their head. Could it be possible that he heard all the accusations Ethan made against him? Well, he did shout at the top of his lungs. We removed our masks as it was getting suffocated.

"What is going on here?" Resilius stared. "I just heard that the medic was called immediately telling them that a girl was about to lose her life? What happened and why wasn't I informed about it?"
"It was Katherine, sir. But don't need to worry right now. She is okay. We all are." Drake said timidly. Why did he look so scared of seeing Resilius?

"What did you all do?" Resilius shouted moving forward towards us.

"I thought Olisen might have informed you about this," Katherine said confused getting down from the table.

"Inform about what?" He asked frustrated.

"Regarding Liz's transformation," Drake said. 

"No! I did not get any information about the process of her transformation. All Olisen said was on the day of her birthday she was going through the same thing that her brother here went." Resilius said confused with anger raging.

We did not what to respond with. Why did Olisen hide the complications of my transformation from Resilius? Was it because he did not believe him? Could Ethan be true about the mole being Resilius Viktor himself?

"Where is he now? Where is Olisen?" Resilius said enraged.

"We do not know about his current whereabouts sir. But he did mention to me that he had important work in the south of Ezra." Drake confided to Resilius. Ethan gave a dirty look at Drake ratting Olisen out.

"The south of Ezra? Do you mean the Roaselies? What is he doing there?" Resilius roared at Drake.

"I..I don't know sir." Drake stuttered.

"I have had enough of it. Olisen gave me this position only to go behind my back and do all kinds of troublesome. This ends now. Guards!" Resilius yelled and a few men came from behind him. "Go to Roaselies find what Olisen is up to and bring him back to me. And take these kids and lock them up...except for this girl." He ordered his guards glaring at me.

"You will not lay a finger on her," Ethan warned stepping in front of me.

"Listen, boy. I am done with all of this. You either follow me or face the consequences." Resilius said placing his walking staff under Ethan's chin looking straight into his eyes. "Guards!" He yelled at them and walked out the door.

As soon as Resilius ordered, the men grabbed each of us. Drake and Ethan tried freeing their grasp but only in vain, they held Drake's hands taut behind his back to prevent him from using magic. Katherine, who was already unwell too tried stopping them but she was far too weak to raise her hands. Chris and I were no match to them apparently.

 Then something surprising happened. Ethan elbowed one of the guards in his stomach, and in that small gap of escape, he ran to a nearby glass door. He hurriedly opened it, It was filled with blocks and blocks of ice. He slowly turned back and smiled. A sharp smile ran across his face. He faced the guards, staring at them, noticing their position. All our eyes were on Ethan, unknown what he was planning to do. However, Drake seemed to understand what Ethan was about to do next. He nodded at him astutely. 

Ethan closed his eyes, his whole feature was serene as if he was concentrating on something. The guards were confused they were still on their tracks looking at his actions cautiously, unaware of what to do. Drake, Katherine, Chris, and I were still on the hands of the remaining guards looking keenly at Ethan. He slowly raised his both arms, bringing it closer to his chest. He opened his eyes and smirked at the guards, before anyone could analyze what was going on and what was about to happen, with a snap of Ethan's fingers came ice shards behind him. Seering through the hands and legs of the guards. With one snap he took down the entire guards, they fell down with ice shards piercing, only harming them lightly to put them down for a little while.
