The day was bitter as the cud. No one was home, Jem and Jule were at the family business, Jazz was at the hospital and Joy and and Jase just disappeared in thin air. It was raining heavily outside so I could go to the garden or to the stables. I was sitting by the window sill and looking up to the ugly dark thundering sky. Just then I felt my phone vibrate beside me.
'We are having some of our friends over for dinner. Nothing fancy, just wanted you to know.' Jazz's message read. Well, I since I'm jobless, I think exploring the house will be a good idea. I barely know what is inside this humongous mansion. With that I walked out of my room and went towards the library, no I'm not a nerd, I just want to explore.
I opened the door and entered the gorgeous world of books. The black shelves adored the walls, wooden ladders leading to the upper shelves. The room was filled with old objects and gave a ancient vibe. Brown desks and chairs were scattered across the room. I took my sweet time roaming around and let my fingers travel along the dusty books, when something caught me eyes.
A thick, black book with some golden embroidery stood out on one of the shelves. I moved towards and narrowed my eyes to read the beautiful as well as confusion gold calligraphy. 'ESCAPE', that was the word, fascinated by the title, I placed my hand on it and tried taking it out. The minute the book moved, eerie sounds filled the walls of the library.
Holding my breath I looked around the room, to my horror, the book shelve split into two and opened like a door, relieving a secret room. Letting go of my breath, I stood there transfixed. What is this place, I'm not allowed to go beyond the second floor, the library has a secret room, I don't know what the family business is, I'm going crazy.
Stepping inside, my fingers travelled the wall to find the light switch. The light bulb above my flickered to life and it's yellow rays added to the eerie look of the room. My gaze slowly travelled down from the celling and meet age old armor. An ancient armor inside a modern house, I'm not surprised.
The room was small, to my surprise, had a pale wall paper, cobwebs filled the celling. What caught my attention was that there were bookshelves stacked with leather bounded books. It was like a library inside a library. A small wooden table was in the middle with scattered books. I sat on the chair and observed the room without disturbing anything.
Some books were kept open on the table, relieving there yellow pages. It was written in an unknown language, but I'm guessing it's Italian or maybe Latin. I stood up and made my way to the armor. I ran my hand through it's metallic face and then the sword. I am always fascinated by weapons, be it old or new, so I tried pull the sword for it original place.
Again an eerie sound filled the room, and a small panel door sprung open from the wall. Wow, what else am I going to find in this house. I made way to the wall, to realize the that panel was a locker. I pecked inside the locker, I do my horror, I found guns. Not one but maybe ten. What are GUNS doing inside by freaking brother's house.
These guns from by knowledge were not normal guns. They were sleek, high tech, and from it's structure, you can shoot well on the target from miles away. How to I know this, well as I mentioned, I love weapons so I do a lot of research on them.
Not wanting to find any more creepy things in this house, I adjusted the sword back to it position making the locker door shut automatically and went outside the room. I pulled the shelve back to it's place, made the book be in it's original position. I exhaled deeply to calm myself and took a seat on a chair. The recent events kept on playing in my mind. My fingers were shaking and my entire body was filled with fear.
I had inside debate on weather to comfort my siblings about this, and right on cue, my phone vibrated.
'Will be home in five.' Jazz's message read.
