Jess's POV

It was a lovely afternoon. The soft sunshine of a February sun spread warmth through my body. Today was the last day in Florida, a day which made excitement, anxiety and nervousness run through my veins. So far everything was smooth, my game was amazing, and our win made it even more awesome. Jazz and I have gotten more closer and she is starting to show me a bit of her wild side.

Right now, I'm laying on the carpet and looking at the clouds like how little children do. Jazz and I had a small picnic in a near by park since the weather was a bit pleasant. I let out a long breath as I thought about the attack which might happen. Will I die or will anyone in my family die? It weird, I like to have everything under control but death, it something no one can control. It just happens.

"Jess we need to get going." Jazz said glancing at her watch. I got up, dusted my pant and rolled the mat. "Are you nervous." I asked her. "No. I was born to face these attacks and I wish it will come sooner than later. I hate waiting." She replied causally looking straight ahead. "But Jess, It is normal for you to be nervous. Even though you are a amazing fighter and your skills are renowned, you're a just 13." She replied placing her hand on my shoulder.

"Our luggage has already been taken, so we just have to go to the runway." She said as we got in her red Ferrari. Comfortable silence filled the car, only the soft country music filled the air. This was something like the silence before a storm, in this case a very heavy storm. Surprisingly the roads were clear and no vehicle could be seen.

"Jazz don't you think it's weird that the streets are deserted." I asked looking around the surrounding. She opened her mouth to reply but a loud gun shot interrupted her. The bullet hit the back glass making it crack. I turned to see black cars following us, men hanging from the window with weapon in their hands. "Fuck." Jazz swore loudly as she rushed through the lane, efficiently avoiding the bullets.

Out of nowhere, more black cars came in to view making my anxiety increase. Surprising they started shooting the men who attacked us. "They are Jem's men. Jess keep your head down." She yelled through the rain of bullets, and I did as told. "Isn't there anything I can do." I asked. I do not know who to shoot, I only know how to use  knives and blades, and they can't be used now. "Don't get hurt." Jazz replied shortly.

A strange sound filled the air and frowned my brows in confusion. "They shot the tires." Jazz said in pure annoyance. "There're about 50 Russians here and 30 of Jem's men, we do have back up but they will join only when necessary." She explained. "I can't sit here, I'm going out." She said grabbing two guns and getting out.

I watched through the window with my mouth open as she shot multiple men perfectly. "Coming." She asked opening the door. I took out my dragged and walked out with my evil smirk. I stabbed a few men on the side of their neck and stomach, killing a few and leaving some with brutal injuries. Although I was quick in my moves, I can never match Jazz's speed.

Our men had taken care of most of the Russians, there were only a few left and they were kept alive for torturing. "Good work." Jazz said as she shot the last man perfectly between his eyes. "You're amazing." I said with a wide smile. Just then a loud bang erupted and pain shot through my back.

I tried to scream in pain but nothing came. All I could see was a blurry vision of Jazz rushing over to me. My back felt like it was stomped by an elephant, tears and black dots clouded my vision and I gave in to darkness.

Jem's POV

Finishing a board meeting, I walked towards my office, happy with the reports. I gave curt nods to all those who greeted me. I entered my office and sat town on my chair. Just then my phone started to ring, glancing at the caller id, I picked it up. "Yes Jazz." I said and was greeted with silence in the other end.
