Jess's POV
I'm currently in Geography class with Hayden and Grace, dreading each second. Hayden is tapping his foot impatiently while Grace is struggling to keep her eyelids from closing. It's been a week since I had ice cream with Sal and also a week since I have seen Enzo.
I got to know more about my siblings in the past couple of weeks, except Enzo. It is pretty clear that all of them are either fighting or hiding their demons, especially Enzo. I have also got more close with my friends. Grace and I are very similar in character, only she is more violent. Soph says and I quote, "you both are twins born in different places."
Soph is the most caring and patient in the gang. I ramble all my complains and worries to her and she listens calmly with a small smile. Hayden always knows how to brighten my mood. Leo, even though is quiet most of the time, its fun to be around him. Overall everything is going well.
After all eternity, the bell rang signaling it was lunch. "Finally." Hayden said and shoved his books in his bag. We walked towards the cafeteria, with everyone staring at me as I passed, not surprising. Perks of being the sister of the most popular twins in school. Do me a favor and note the sarcasm.
"Hey can I ask you something." I asked turning to my friends as we walked. "Sure." Grace said and Hayden nodded with his usual grin on his face. "Why does everyone fear Jase and Joy." I asked. "I don't how to answer that..." Hayden dragged. "Wow Jess, you are the first person to make him shut his mouth." Grace said and earned a punch from Hayden.
"I don't know if it is true, but rumors have it that your family is part of a gang." Grace said and I topped on my tracks. "What." I exclaimed. "They are just rumors, people love to cook up stories." Hayden said shaking his head. "Ya, they won't hurt anyone." I said.
We turned and my eyes turned into saucers. Jase was beating a poor boy who wasn't half his size. Joy was leaning against a locker with a evil smirk, I can't believe my eyes, a small group of students circled them. "You were saying." Grace said with a smirk. I turned to her and her expression changed to guilt. "Stop them." I asked them in my weakest voice.
"No, don't interfere in this Jess." Leo's voice came from behind. "We should go." Soph said beside him. When did they even get her. I turned to see the helpless boy fell to the ground, blood oozed his face, tears started to form in my eyes as I remembered the last time I saw blood.
I wanted to run to him and slap Jase across his face, but my feet was stuck to the ground. "Come on, Jess." Leo said as he and Hayden wrapped their arms around my shoulders and pulled me. I couldn't remove my gaze from the fight.
I dropped myself on the bench in the cafeteria beside the boys. "Jess, eat up." Soph said as she placed my tray in front of me. "They must be a reason." Grace reassured my and placed her hand on my clenched fists. "A reason for almost killing a person." I growled darkening my eyes.
"Jess you need to calm down." Hayden worriedly. "Calm down, how do you expect me to calm down, when I saw my brother beating the shit out of a person and my sister watching as if it happens everyday." I whisper yelled at him. "It is a everyday assurance to them." I said softly as realization hit me.
The girls offered me a worried look, Hayden nodded while Leo watched me closely. "You know something, don't you Leo." I asked as I looked into his blue eyes which looked like Jule. No, they looked more like my cousins, to be precise, exactly like Mason's.
"That's why you looked familiar." I murmured. "What are you saying." Soph asked. "You look exactly like Mason, the same blue eyes." I said with wide eyes. A smile formed on his lips and his eyes glittered. "I'm glad you finally realized, cousin." He said smoothly. "Wh-what, How." Grace said, her eyes moving from me to Leo. Soph knitted her eyebrows and held a confused look while Hayden had a wide smile of his face.
