Family

"Good morning,"

Hindi ako nagsalita at tinitigan lang siya. His eyes looks weary but I found warm on it. His body is a bit cold probably due to the air-conditioner but it was hot, him half naked greeting you good morning is like a moment that you want to treasure and if its a video, play it repeatedly.

"The breakfast is ready. I ordered a while ago. Uh, I don't know what Davi wants to eat so..."

Tinignan ko ang anak kong natutulog pa sa gitna naming dalawa. Nakasiksik ito sa dibdib ko pero magkahawak kamay sila ni Davin.

Ibinalik ko ang tingin ko sa kausap ng may pagmamalaki dahil sa magandang ugaling mayroon ang anak ko na ibabalandra ko sa kanya.

"My daughter eats what may prepared for her. She eats everything that is in table as long as it's edible."

Ngumiti siya na para bang inaasahan niya na iyon pero hindi satisfied sa narinig.

"I see, you raised her well for the past years but isn't it unfair when you keep on saying that she's your daughter?"

Kumunot ang noo ko sa sinabi niya, "She is really my daughter."

"No, our daughter. She's ours."

Ibinaba ko ang tingin sa unan at hindi umimik. Tahimik lang din siya pero dama ko ang mapanuring tingin niya na nakalaan sakin.

Wala akong magawang sabihin, I'm still overwhelmed on what had happened yesterday. I expect it but not in that way and not that fast! Everything feels like just happened in a swift snap and it makes me dizzy.

"When will we come back to Casa Lavista?"

Mabilis kong ibinalik ang tingin ko sa kanya, seryoso siyang nakatitig sakin. Napalunok ako bigla. I new it! We are chasing everything too fast! I don't know where this would bring us.

We are like an impulsive teenagers making decisions that would change our lives but we actually didn't care because we think it is not that big deal and it was just nothing. But the mere fact that we have a child because we once choose to be a rebel of discipline and awareness is a living hand that is capable of slapping us back to reality so we can live properly.

"I'm not sure. But probably tomorrow, Davi and I will be back with my cousins."

Tumango siya at tumayo. "We can just go back today. So we can talk to your mother and abuelo but I think it's a good idea to stroll with our daughter here first? Just like a family vacation?"

Family? What a word. Family. Am I really having one with this half naked man standing in front of me? Right, technically we are a family.

Why is it so damn nice to think?

"I'll tell my cousins."

Iyon lang naisagot ko dahil pakiramdam ko ay lutang pa talaga ako dahil kagigising ko lang at para pa akong nalainom dahil sa bigat ng ulo dala ng mga pangyayari kahapon na sobrang bilis.

Dahan-dahan akong bumangon sa pagkakahiga para hindi maistorbo sa pag tulog ang anak ko pero hindi pa ako tuluyang nakakatayo at naidilat na niya ang mata niya.

"Buenas diáz Mamá, where are you going?"

Nginitian ko agad ang anak ko, "Good morning, I'll get ready for today. You wanna join me?"

Tumango siya kahit nakahiga pa sa unankaya inalalayan ko siyang tumayo. Bumaling agad siya kay Davin ng pagkatayo niya.

"You're still here, did you sleep beside me? Just like Uncle Son?" Kumunot ang noo ni Davin sa sinabi ng anak ko. I cleared my throat and he look at me.
