The next day after breakfast when Mioha walked with Ron, Hermione and Harry to class, she noticed the black-haired Gryffindor kept rubbing the back of his right hand.
"Everything alright there, Harry?", she asked him, noticing how Hermione and Ron traded a look.
Harry mumbled something under his breath, before he spoke in a clearer voice: "It's nothing."
Mioha raised an eyebrow.
"Harry", said Hermione quietly. "We know too."
He glared at her before turning to Mioha. "It's from my detention."
Mioha furrowed her eyebrows in confusion and fixated Harry's hand. The skin looked normal, although there was a red line of fresh skin across the back of his hand, as if a wound had just healed.
"She's using bloodquills!", Hermione whispered angrily.
Mioha's eyes widened. "Blo-"
"It's nothing", Harry repeated and stuck his hand into his cloak pocket.
"Have you thought of going to Professor Dumbledore?", Mioha asked.
Ron silently shook his head at her.
"No, and I won't", said Harry flatly. "He seems to be busy, I won't bother him with a small thing like this. Besides, Umbridge is from the ministry, there isn't much he can do."
"It's still illegal", Mioha insisted. "She should get sacked for that."
"We better keep out of her way", Ron mumbled. "You watch out, Mioha. If she uses those quills on you, you're done for."
Mioha blanched a little.
"Good thing you can't get detention from her for not performing a spell correctly", said Hermione sarcastically. "Considering we won't be doing any magic at all."
Ron was right, Mioha had to be careful. Professor Umbridge could still assign her detention for some other stupid reason, especially since she had spoken up in Professor Umbridge's class.
Well, that hadn't been very smart, had it?
"I'll see you guys later", said Hermione, who separated from them to get to Arithmancy. Ron and Harry continued to the North Tower for Divination, while Mioha hurried to get to History of Magic. The other Slytherins were waiting in front of the class room by the time she got there, talking in low voices amongst each other. Some threw Mioha supercilious looks, while others just averted their eyes as if they didn't want to be caught looking at her. Leaning against the wall and pretending to read a book Mioha had pulled out of her bag, she carefully used her sensitive hearing to eavesdrop on the others. Not a usual habit of hers, but she was curious. Many voices filled her ears, like a buzzing swarm of bees. Mioha kept picking out voices at random, all the while occasional flipping a page in her book.
